Currently game the DG X100's except for my 3i 790, which has a Tour Issue X100. I bought a Hi-Toe and put a PX 6.0 in it and it feels the same or even more stiff than my X100's.

My question is, do I go to PX 6.5 for all my irons or do I go to KBS C-Taper X?

SS hovers around 110-115.

Play the Kurokage XD 80TX in my 3W

Play the CK Pro White 70TX in my Driver

Thanks!

PX in my experience has a slightly higher initial launch than DG, but oveall has a flatter trajectory and lower peak height. Might be worth looking at them. Never played C-Taper but they are a very low launch/low spin shaft too.

I'm in a similar position, I hit the ball too high and too spiny. I played the C-Taper and that helped get the ball flight down but the left like a broom handle in the MP-18s. I ended up swapping them out for the $-Taper in 5g heavier. They do cost more but perform excellent.

If you struggle with flight on your wedges I'd look at the 610 wedge shafts from KBS. Another great product.

My buddy and I both play the 770's, he's recently bumped his 7-9 to muscle backs, he hits the ball higher too but he plays the C-Tapers and they're a little heavier and I do notice the ball flight is lower with his C-Tapers.

The X100's come out nice but balloon up and then just drop it seems like.

I'll look into the C-Tapers then. I'll also look at the wedge shafts too. I full swing my 52 but my 56 and 60 I don't. So I'd consider getting different shafts for those two.

Thanks!

Launch and spin are all player dependent. I did some shaft testing on FlightScope this winter and saw that I launch C-Taper a little higher than X100, but the X100 spins 500 rpm more across the board for me. If you can, you really need to find a place where you can test/measure both.

Go to a fitter and try out the X7 from True Temper.

I was fitted into C-Taper S+ the year they came out (2012?) and at the time, they were one of the lowest launch/spin shafts on the market other than their PX forebears, but just last week was fitted into a new iron set with X7 in 4-9. Launch angle was down over 3 degrees on average and spin was way down which was resulting in distance gains over my C-Tapers. I play KBS 610 wedge shafts in all my wedges and they are very similar to the X7.

The X7 is a 132g shaft but the weight distribution in them felt 10X nicer to me than the Nippons he also had me try, and noticeably better than the C-Taper. What I love about the X7 is how you can actually feel the shaft load up. So smooth.

> Right on, I did see that TT had the X7's...how similar are they too the TX100's? As stated above I have the X100 in my 790 3 iron but it still feels almost too whippy. I haven't tipped it yet which I may do.

The X-Seven has a .610 grip diameter and is more stiff throughout the club vs the X100. The only way I can describe swinging the X-Seven is that you can feel the weight of the entire shaft during the backswing/club loading. It performs smoothly as you would expect a tapered shaft would on the downswing.

Hopefully you can get in somewhere and try them out side by side.
