Old Navy Slim Go-Dry Pants - how do they hold up?

These are the only pants from Old Navy I currently own, and I went down a waist size or two in them as l feel the size number is a bit generous. I'm somewhere between 34 and 36, probably closer to 34 at the moment, and have pairs of these pants in 34 and 33 waist depending on their cut. In other words, you might be able to go down a size, but your results may vary.

I went and tried on my size today. They were way too tight on my thighs. I'm pretty disappointed because they were so cheap ($12 at my local store).

i actually wear a 31x30 as well. However they looked big to me so i tried them on in the store and left with a 30x30. Definitely size down an inch, probably because of the stretch factor.

I’m disagreeing with myself and apologies to all. Just went by an ON to check them out in person and the similarity ends at the name. Not even close to the pants.

Was in Target last weekend and noticed they dropped a "tech" style pant. Kinda similar in fit to the Old Navy Go Dry, but definitely not the same so might fit some people better. Also not polyester, these are cotton/nylon/spandex. You'll know the feel if you see them. Possible good option for some people..

Haven’t tried their pants but I have the Gap Hybrid pants (discontinued now) and they are amazing. I hope BR will have something similar eventually or that Gap brings them back.

UPDATE:

 

I have been wearing the Slim Go-Dry pants (along with the Old Navy Built-In Flex Polo) to work every single day since mid-January when I decided to pull a Zuckerberg and assign myself a personal outfit. 3 pairs of pants and 5 polos in the rotation.

 

In 4.5 months there is absolutely no discernible wear on any of the articles of clothing. No loose threads, no seam or zipper issues, no undue shrinking/stretching, no apparent thinning of material, even in flex/stress points. Washing in cold, tumble dry medium. Lately they've been going straight from work to the course with no problems. I can very comfortably and confidently say these pants hold up and perform better than any golf pant I've ever owned, at a fraction of the price.

My local store is phasing them out. Had a few pairs of Go-Dry pants on the clearance rack for $11.49. Weird that they are $50 online and $11 on the clearance rack in the store.

The ones you linked to, if you look at the 'product details', are mainly cotton. The ones I linked to are mainly polyester. Major difference. Yours are more of a casual short, the other ones are the 'golf' style.

I bought a couple pairs of Haggar Cool 18 Pro. They're nice but the Old Navy are nicer. Old Navy are stretchier and more golf pants looking. The Haggar are more dress pants looking.

The navy are my favorite. Wish I could find more, but those and the croc tears are proving hardest to find.

Love the pants and shorts, but hate the pockets. I have multiple of each and it always seems that the pocket turn inside-out when pulling your hand out. Might have my lady try to put a stitch in the pocket to keep it down where it belongs, but who knows how that will work.

Also love the pants and shorts and also hate the back pockets as they do turn inside out when I pull my hand out. Also the back buttons gets in the way when I put a glove in there. But fit and stretch materials I have liked more than both Nike flex slim and UA Showdown tapered.

can you all recommend any other pants similar to the go-dry pants that are cheap and still fit and look good? I have lost some weight and now all my go-dry pants are way to big in waist and would love to replace, but not offering in my sizes in colors I want. I def do not want them painted on me, but the must be a slimmer fit, especially though the lower leg. Thanks in advance

The Ben Hogan pants at Wal-mart are nice for $19. Slim fit but not too slim. Run a little small in the waist so try them on.

 

Edit to add, I found a nice pair of PGA pants at Marshall's today for $20. Very similar to the Old Navy pants and they wash well without wrinkles.

Now that I’ve tried the original and the second generation, count me as a fan of the first generation. I prefer the design detail of the seam behind the upper calf and also prefer the gusseted crotch of the OG version. Still love the fabric and will wear the most recent pair I purchased, but not buying any more of the current version.
