I've been doing it wrong. Need navy belt.

Black and navy is a no-go.

Brown doesn't go unless you are wearing brown shoes (which I don't with shorts).

 

Need a navy belt I guess. Was thinking croc or lizard print. Suggestions?

Thinking croc or lizard your two best options IMO are Patrick Gibbons Handmade and Jacob Hill Leather, aka Piedmont.

I got three kids and wife. I'm not even ballin' on a budget, we are over budget and I haven't balled in years.

 

Mainly making sure I can do a patterned belt and not look like a 60 year old man. Figured a subtle pattern would be appropriate since it would be darn near impossible to get the shades of navy to match.

 

I am thinking grey croc belt for grey pants and shorts?

Unfortunately that's the price point you get into when you ask for croc or lizard belts. You might be able to find somebody that does a printed pattern or something, but those can look a bit obvious and cheesy at times. There are companies like Ace of Clubs that has some that are faux patterns of high end skins, but they're not all that cheap either.

 

I'd stick to woven belts if you're looking for value. Nothing wrong with those.

I second the NexBelt choice. I have a navy pebble grain with white contrast stitching. Maybe $60 retail?

I've got a woven/web J. Lindeberg belt in navy that I wear all the time. You can find Nike, Under Armour, Adidas...etc for less than $50 easy.

Gibbons Navy Lizard. Around $100 when he does sales, will last a long long time. I rotate my 3 lizard belts daily to work black is approaching 5 years old and still looks great.

There is nothing wrong with navy and black in the office. Unless it's black belt and brown shoes...

I picked up a reversible Dunhill belt in light and dark grey - it's very versatile and goes with just about anything. You can also get away with any colour shoe as they will almost always have a bit of grey in :smile:

Check out Mission Belt. They have lots of options for both straps and buckles. A set runs around $35 or buy the strap or buckle separate for around $22. They have leather, nylon, and canvas options. I actually have the Navy belt and wear it almost daily for work or golf. Have had for over 3 years with out any issues!

I think grey would be safe, or as the model is wearing, some kind of dark blue may work as well.

I’m a huge fan of the UA woven belts. Go one size less than your waist as they stretch like a champ. Look for the original series on the bay. And I IMO white belts are ok...but with white pants or shorts only.

Picked up two amazon specials that showed up yesterday. The grey is a little too dark for the light grey shorts I was hoping to go with but I really like the buckle. It is the no hole click type. Not real leather I am afraid though.

 

The navy belt I picked up is real leather it has holes though but has a nice clean buckle. Very understated which was exactly what I was after.

 

Durability might be an issue but this isn't going to be an everyday belt, either one, so hopefully it works out.

I picked up a $14 woven stretch belt from amazon that works great for golf. They have a bunch of colors. I got navy and grey and they work great.

Thank you for helping me see the light. This thread stuck with me and I finally stumbled upon a navy belt that I really like. I also got it on considerable sale at a pro shop, so that helped.
