Cobra f9 speedback driver

First time poster here! Not too many threads about the new f9 I could find on here so decided to post about my experience. Recently watched some videos on the new cobra f9 and saw some of the ridiculous ball speeds people were getting with it so I decided I had to go test it out for myself. Went to Roger Dunn after work tonight and had the guy there help me put together the best set up for my swing.

 

I am currently playing the ping g400 lst 8.5° with a Tensei pro white 70tx. I have trouble keeping spin down and with my current set up still spinning around 2600-2800 but haven’t found any other set up that’s lowered it and trust me I’ve tried them all.

 

We went with the 14g weight forward and the Fuji atmos black tour spec 7x

 

The f9 is unlike any driver I’ve ever hit. The milled face produces a very dead sound but not in a negative way. And the feel is what I would describe as softer feeling compared to the other drivers out there but very solid. Where as my current driver feels almost hollow without much behind it even on good strikes. The f9 feels like it has weight and strength behind it. The atmos black was very smooth and stable with a good kick at impact.

 

This driver is hands down the best driver I have ever hit. And I have hit them all. The strikes that found the center went a long way and even more impressive was the off center strikes that still stayed on a great line. I gained more than 5mph of ball speed and the carry distances I was seeing were numbers I have never seen before. So for anyone out there who’s watched the YouTube reviews and thought they were fake and impossible to believe (like myself lol). I’m here to tell you this driver is the real deal and if you haven’t had the chance to hit it yet you need to.

It’s really ironic you posted this today. I too had seen the video’s and all the glowing reviews. Well today I went to hit it for myself and it was by far the best feeling driver I’ve ever felt. The results were utterly ridiculous. I previously hit the epic and thought that was a long driver, but the F9 is a different animal altogether.

 

Count me converted

Idk if it’s the aero dynamic technology they’re all about but it’s in a category of its own that’s for sure. Haha yeah it’s funny because this is the first thing cobra I’ve ever tried and now I’m interested in checking out everything else they’ve got !

No doubt. I would of never considered a Cobra. I think it’s a combination of the aerodynamics and that forged face. Whatever it is, it’s a unicorn.

Dude, i have literally hit every combo in the world, i didnt believe the hype...man i jus hit the F9 1st time atmos 7x black...its the TRUTH!!

 

I Cant explian it, offline hits were just as deep but stayed way more on line, feel was great and super long on center. This is one of the best drivers ive hit since my Ping Anser, 1 session an Im HOOKED!

 

THIS driver is legit its so forgiving and long and straight...wow cobra!!

ManOWar I tried the atmos black in 6x and 7x and also the HZRDUS smoke in 6.5. Loft wise I only tried 9° and they were so good at that setting I didn’t even bother trying anything else. The atmos black 7x fit me best and felt best for me.

Judge440 flash sz felt good. I’m sure it was more the shaft but I still couldn’t get the spin down with it. Same with the rogue sz. Callaway just doesn’t work for me I guess.

Strangely enough I think I have just grown accustomed to the looks of Callaway drivers - starting with epic sz. I have an F9 still in the wrapper and will likely sell it before I even hit it. Not that it looks bad or anything, I just prefer the look of the Callaway drivers...

1st round today on course...i hit every fairway but 2 and dropped bombs with this thing. The feel distance and dispersion is sooooo good, damn the F9 is legit!! Mid flight low spin bombs, bad swings still went far and stayed in play its crazy

Same experience for me as above post. I,m carrying the ball where my TM M2 usually stops, super wet today as ball was landing and either plugging or rolling 2 feet. Have had a butt load of rain in Houston for a while now.

I hit most everything at a huge demo day at my club in Jupiter FL yesterday after my round. The F9 with Atmos 6x produced the best numbers, has great feel, and reduced spin v. my GMax w/ Tour AD IZ. I love my Ping driver, but the performance of the F9 is impressive enough to have me considering picking one up.

Same here, it performed so well and looks and feel and all were so good i had to get it, very very nice combo with atmos black 7x

I also took the plunge and bought the Ferrari Yellow F9 9 degree but didn’t like the Atmos black shaft so built my own Project X LZ blue 6.5 handcrafted shaft set up at 44.5” and if I stay in control, 285-300 is easily achieved. Also built a second shaft- Project X even flow Blue 6.5 but need to try it out more before changing shafts . Love to tinker...

Got one with atmos 7x but a little too soft at my violence, fantastic shaft tho! Put in my t1100 75 6.5 and point n shoot cannon!

Playing the exact same setup. Amazing flight. Very long and quite forgiving - especially high on the face. Loving it so far.
