Golf Pride Align grips

I am looking at the tour velvet align for my irons. Can anybody comment on these ease of install? I have been doing my own grips for a few years but not perfect. These seem they would be easier to “line up”?

I have always used the Golfworks rib pack. I can put them on and then put on whatever grip I want. I got the new tour velvet 360's from Golf Galaxy fro 4.99 a piece. I think the rib pack is like 5 bucks for a pack of 30? I couldn't imagine paying $13 a piece for a grip, that's just insane

I just use zip-ties I got from Lowes. You can get zip-ties 11"-14" and just cut them to size. Technically they might be too large to be legal but whatever.

Bumping this because the specs on the midsize Tour Velvet Align midsize grips make no sense. Golf Pride website says the midsize TV align weighs 64 grams. Heavier than almost all their other midsize grips. For reference: TV midsize (standard): 53 grams, TV Cord mid 61.7 grams

MCC mid 59 grams -> MCC Align mid 57.5 grams (lighter!)

Z Grip mid 57.5 grams -> Z Grip Align mid 59 grams

 

Any reason why the TV Align midsize is 11 grams heavier than a standard TV midsize? Weight typically correlates to size. My guess is that the TV Align midsize is close to a Jumbo grip.

Can't comment on the weight, but has anyone else had some variation in the thickness of the Midsize's?  I've bought a few sets of TV Aligns, and another of the ZCord Aligns, all Midsize, and using the exact same grip tape, some feel much thicker/thinner than others.  Anyone else experience this?

For sure. "Midsize" can be range of sizes, even within the same manufacturer. Kinda like T shirt sizes. You have small, medium, large. Just because you like medium doesn't mean every medium shirt fits the same. Look at the grip weight, will give you a better idea if the grip is a smaller midsize or bigger (keep in mind cord and align will also add to weight). Z Cord is known to be a little more narrow than other GP cord grips. The TV aligns are super heavy for a midsize, which makes me think they are closer to jumbo. Looking at GP cord grips: Z grip mid 57.5 gm, MCC 59 grams, and TV Cord 61.7. All midsize, but the Z grip will feel the smallest and the TV Cord will feel the biggest.

I've had an inconsistency even within the same model.  My first two sets of Aligns were TV's (non-cord) and one was significantly thinner than the other.  Thanks for the input, I'll pay more attention to weight going forward. Do love the grips, though, have always liked the reminder, and I think these look kinda cool.

I have been using TV ribbed for 10+ years. This past year it was harder to find them so gave the TV Align a go. Found the rib feel softened over the course of the year where as on the old TV it got more prominent as the grip wore. 

Both worked and felt how I wanted. I do like how the TV Align have a touch of red adds a nice look.
