Driver fitting - shaft question

Hey guys, I had a driver fitting yesterday. The pro didn’t have all the Cobra F9 fitting options yet, which is what I really wanted to try. Instead I ended up with a TS2, which worked nicely. But still would’ve liked to have hit the F9.

 

I’m wondering if I take a chance and get the F9 with the shaft I got fit with the TS2 for - probably a stupid question, but the reviews and numbers the F9 has are hard to ignore.

 

For background the Shaft I ended up with on the TS2 is Even flow T100 white 75, 6.5 flex, 75g weight, cut to 44.5. (TS2 8.5* set at C1).

 

Any feedback would be great.

I have the F9 and it isn't the rocket launcher that the reviews make it sound like it is. Not every shaft is a perfect match for every head. Enjoy your TS2 and don't second guess yourself.

I got fit for most of the brands and because I liked the feel and the even flow timed up well with my swing, that was the shaft I was fit into. Only one of the brands didn't have the white and I ended up in ef black over the atmos.

It could but it couldn't, it's an expensive gamble. If you really want to give the F9 a full go hold off on your purchase and test again when all shafts are in or find another location to test. If not nothing wrong with the TS2 especially if it's a great fit for you which is the main end goal.

I have been fit a few times before and each time, the head was 'my preference'. More important part was shaft for your swing. Once dialed in - you can choose from a variety of heads (or ones in the same class). I would see zero problem going between a TS2 and an F9.

Cobra offers the Evenflow T1100 as a no upcharge shaft, get the Tour version (44.5") 9 degree and they will have the heavier head weights to accommodate the slightly shorter shaft length. Once you get it, you can get on a lunch monitor and confirm your numbers, spin, swap weights / loft to optimize...PGA Superstore in only like $50 for a driver tweak.

To me, either the Cobra or the Titlesist would work very well...you have to really like what you see when you look down. You got the shaft dialed in....If you really love the looks and what the Cobra brings to the table - go for it. If you are very happy with your titleist package - go for that.

(I actually got fitted with a Cobra F8+ last year...was able to hit the F9 with my same shaft from the F8+ and got slightly better numbers all around - moved from F8+ to F9. The shaft I was fit for was confirmed to be the best shaft for me after hitting 4 others, regardless of head)

I've got the F9 with the stock Smoke 6.0 and while I hit well. I think the shaft is holding me back, so I am going to get fitted today, actually, for a shaft that will perform better. When I bought it, I hit the G410, Epic Flash, M5, etc... all the numbers were basically the same. I went with the Cobra, because I already had F6 irons and F6 baffler in the bag. I too think the heads are interchangeable, having the right shaft is more important.
