trail elbow

I have recently started struggling, and really trying to keep the shaft laid off during the DS. I couldn't dig it out in the range, so I went back to a drill of the trail elbow toward belly button in the DS. This seemed to work really well, and I messed around with it quite a bit. I hit really solid shots again.

 

My issue is, this feels so steep to me. Has anyone else used this as the trigger for a DS? Any precautions? I know that too much of anything will overdue it.

If it feels steep are you moving the elbow down towards the hip. The idea is the trail elbow moves down and forward - chasing the belly button. It also has to coordinate with the lower body move.

I went to the range. I think this move actually puts me on plane. In the attempt to shallow the club, I overdid it and got stuck and behind. I seem to no longer have the massive left pulls/heavy draws, which would indicate a massive flip to catch the club up. Being a chronic OTT guy, I think it's a matter of learning.

Shouldn't feel steep, this is the move I use https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UD9ALyggNE0 I love the phrase "feel like you're losing an arm wrestling match. I, from the top, feel that and drive the right elbow (slowly) to my right hip - right around my first belt loop close to my right pocket. This has been a very consistent feel and move for me and I can make pretty much the exact same rehearsal every single day. Very similar to Harvey Penick's "magic move" rehearsal
