Time for an update. Its been awhile since I posted who all I have added to Robert K. Sommers iconic Classics of Golf reprinted book on the U.S. Open. Why the COG book? Because the navy blue cover with the U.S. Open trophy in silver on it - thats why. Added a few signatures a month or so ago at the Legends of Golf tournament at Top of the Rock. For some reason Kite is a bit ornery. Thought I was some type of memorabilia dealer. Forget the fact that all I had was this somewhat tattered book. No reason to act like that when legit fans come up. I can remember rocking the Hogan bucket hat just like him years ago! He was that way when I asked him to sign as a kid back in the mid 90’s. Trevino however, was great. Never disappoints. Wish I could have the chance to talk golf/Merion with him for an hour one day. Hope to add a few more before I retire this thing. It has a few miles lol.

Bryson signed Homer Kelley’s book - The Golfing Machine at the Traveler’s. Good conversation with him about it. I cant help but to root for him as he does it his way.

Tiger Woods - I sent this book to him asking him to sign and inscribe it and....damn if it didnt come back signed.

Johnny Farrell - the man who defeated Bobby Jones in the 1928 U.S. Open. Love this find. Took awhile to get it at a decent price.

Can I ask why you have removed the dust jackets? I thought they were more desirable to collectors with them.

Picked up a pair of books from a thrift shop this week.

 

The Anatomy of a Golf Course, by Tom Doak (Translated into Finnish, when in Rome you know, or Helsinki)

 

and 

 

Play Better Golf with Hale Irwin (2 time Us Open winner, little did he know he'd bag a 3rd)

^ This one I'm enjoying for how old it is, a lot of glaring things to be laughed at today "Remember most professionals are not going for par 5's in 2"  "There is no scientific reason a 3 iron is harder to hit than a similarly lofted 5 wood" "Driver distance - 260 yards" are the ones stood out to me so far. I'm sure I'll dig up more!

The Kaplan books are fantastic references as are the GolfWorks Golf Club Identification and Price Guides.  I managed to find a copy of Joe Clement's, Classic Golf Clubs today.  I've been looking for that for a while.  Now I just need a copy of Ueno Kihisao's Classic Golf Clubs which will likely have to be sourced from Japan.

I agree about the Kaplan books. I wish there was one on Dunlop clubs. I'll have to track down the books that you mention.
