Tried them all, including Ping and Mizuno. The Z585 won easily. It was the most consistent of the bunch. Straightest, and was best for overall length. The Mizuno did poke some out past the 585, but only a few and they wouldn't have been in the fairway.

Driver: Callaway Mavrik

7 Wood: PXG Gen 5

Irons: Cleveland ZipCore XL (5-AW)
Wedges: Cleveland CBX 4 ZipCore  (54, 58)

I'm slower speed guy and the Epic Flash sub zero actually has been a pleasant surprise! Not that it means much but won the prize as best for slower speeds on that other site.....tried G410, TS3/2, F9 etc ,etc coming from M3

If I may ask which shaft do you have in the Z585 and what flex. Thanks .

Agree as well havent played Titlest since 915 but tuge TS2 is solid mostly a great feel and sound. Couldnt stand sound of the Epic Flash SZ and frankly nothing was that much longer than TS2. Accurate as heck for a new driver.

Gil,

I have the 9.5* head with the stock (Stock is the real deal in the Srixon's), HZRDUS 6.0-Stiff, Red shaft. I have the HZDRUS Smoke in my fairway wood, and HZRDUS Black in my Hybrid. I'm a big fan of the HZRDUS line up.

Thanks … I like both the Srixon drivers. I would like to test the Z785 with the HRZDUS red shaft in it. It can be ordered as I have seen. My guess is I would get more carry with that shaft than the black shaft. Will also test the Z585 driver. Both are great looking clubs from Srixon.

I am really partial to the new TS drivers. They really have the best balance of performance IMO; as they are outstanding in every category, but may not be at the top of every category.

I find them beautiful behind the ball with minimalist looks and no distractions. The sound is perfect to me; loud and metallic enough to sound powerful, but muted and deep enough that it isn't obnoxious. Very long and low spin, though there are a few options that may be slightly longer or lower spinning. Very forgiving all around the face, though there may be something out there that is slightly more forgiving.

And the stock shaft options are just outstanding. My personal favorite is the HZRDUS Smoke Black 60g. Light enough and beefy enough while maintaining feel not found in the standard HZRDUS Black.

That all said, there are many good options out right now and you should demo them in a good fitting to maximize your dollar spent.

Ping G430 10k - 9* - Ventus TR Black 6x

Callaway Apex UW - 19* - Ventus Black 7x

Vokey SM9 - 52.12F, 56.14F - DG x100ss

Callaway PM Grind 64 - KBS C-Taper 130x

I’m a Titleist guy but decided to take the Pepsi challenge with the TS2 and Ping G400 Max. The TS2 was hands down the better club for me. Fitted for the TS2 and the Hzrdus Smoke Black 60 - 6.0.

> The Hazardous Red Shaft was way better for me in the 785 driver. More distance and more fairways hit. But I wound up with the Titleist TS2 driver. Better overall than the Srixon driver for me. And I could easily have gamed the 785 and been very happy.

I have owned the 785 and only hit the others on the Sim. I could not get past the EF looks and I thought it sounded awful. I can not find the love for Callaway drivers. The 785 and 585 are ok... nothing spectacular... 585 sits closed to me eye, and was just meh. Seemed easy to hit straight but distance and ball speeds were down for me. The 785 was tough to control, I found it wanted to go left when I got it outdoors and I gave up on it as it felt like it was too much work to keep in play on the regular. I hit the TS2 a bunch yesterday and I have to say, it is just about point and shoot. Hit it with the EF white that I had in the TS3.... it felt way boardier in the TS3 but played nicely in the TS2... I am hitting the '17 M2 really well or the TS2 might be the one I jump to.

With that said, the M5 gave me faster ball speeds than all of them and does feel pretty easy to hit straight and keep in play. Worth a look as well.

Loved the TS2. Went from 910D2 to a Epic SZ (not flash). If I was more of a club ho, I would swap for the TS2, but I think I'll wait on the used market and pick up the TS2 when the pain of changing drivers is not so painful to the wallet.

Thats a good idea. It will definitely be worth the wait. Seriously cannot say enough good things about the TS2 has changed my game for the better!
