Bought an Odyssey Black Series Tour Design (milled) #4 in 2011. Awhile back, I threw a UST Freq Filtered shaft in it and had the lie flattened 2 degrees. Been amazed ever since. Still looks great too!1ekr18ea2usq.jpeg

Oddyssey DF 660 '91-1999 or so.

Mizuno TP Mills Workshop II for about 5 years 03-08.

After that it's been a rotation every couple of years.

Want to get really fit with a SAM system sometime, but my many years of putting have really shown me what works best for me.

Anser style blade, plumbers neck or flow neck, 340-355 gm headweight, 4-5 o'clock toe hang.

I’ve had them last 12-13 holes before.

Seriously. Usually a couple weeks. Don’t know why. And the better I hit it. The worse I putt. If I miss 12 -14 greens I’ll make every par putt you throw at me.

That's been my Ping Anser b with blue face insert..... had it for 25+ years. Don't fix what ain't broke!! Putting is the best part of my game and I don't even practice it, not once in 2 months. I naturally enjoy hills and swales on the greens and ability to read breaks. I make enough 15-20 footers/round that I come to expect them. I also use a Shark Jumbo putter grip, shaped like a cone, it narrows down toward the bottom of the grip and that's where I hold it, with fingers curled around the bottom of the grip where the 'cone shape' fits nicely in my hands, the bulk of the grip being above my hands acting like a counterweight; I also use my left index finger pointed down the shafe (I'm left-handed, so it's the forward leading index finger). I rather work on parts of my game that need more help, like irons.

My Rife Cayman Brac has been in the bag for 7 years. I’ve been a mallet hater forever, but with less time to practice and play I started looking for one that I actually liked. Swung the Spider X and HAD to have one. Hopefully it stays in the bag for more than a few holes!

I think the answer to that question is my current Kingston KP1 putter. I've had it in the bag for a little over 3 years. If it's not that one, it's the original Odyssey White Hot #1, which was in that 2-4 year range. That one is still in the closet, but hasn't seen the course since I got my Kingston. Before these 2 putters, I would have one for about a year, before buying a "better" putter, which was usually different Odyssey models, either the #1 or #7 head shapes.

I'm actually getting the itch for a new putter for some reason, even though I'm still putting well with the Kingston. Something about the Odyssey O-Works 7s in black is calling my name. Maybe it's just a phase, and I'll be fine once summer comes around!?!?

I had a custom WRX Redwood Anser back in the day as well... I hope GolfWRX doesn't ban me for calling it "clicky", certainly compared to Dawn

Well I happen to like a bit of click coming off the putter, and I think both do it.

Honestly, I think I would say the same thing about the Redwood if I'd have found it first. But I'm now accustomed to the Dawn, and when the slight differences between the two kind of even out for me, I have a hard time justifying a change.

I've had the same putter (Ben Hogan Bettinardi) for about a dozen years and will probably use it the rest of my life. Before that I had an Odyssey dual force rossie from the time I learned to golf until the betti. It seems like the longer I have it, the better it gets.

  • 2 weeks later...

This thread made me realize that in 2001 I acquired my first good putter, a Scotty Cameron Pro Platinum Newport Midslant. Around 2007 or 08 when I worked at a retail golf store, I dinked around with a Taylor Made Daytona Rossa putter, putted great with it indoors and it felt great, but never bought it. In 2010, having moved two states away, playing in a league, my putting was suddenly atrocious. Was messing around the local golf shop there and found that putter from a few years earlier in mint shape for $40, bought it on the spot and it never left my bag since. However, yesterday I just purchased a replacement for that Taylor Made.

That means both of my last two putters lasted exactly 9 years. We'll see how long the new one lasts!

I used a Teardrop Rollface Zebra (think that's the correct name) from late 1998 or early 1999 up until I made the mistake of using a soft-sided travel bag on my golf vacation in the summer of 2007. When I got home from the trip I couldn't putt a lick with it and finally noticed that the shaft now had maybe a five-degree bend in it right at the top of the double-bend part of the shaft.

I took it to a local club repair guy and he said getting it back straight without messing up the geometry of the double bend shaft was virtually impossible. So he recommended just retired it and getting a new putter. Couldn't fine a lefty Teardrop Zebra by that time so I switched to some sort of Ping or another.

So call it 8-1/2 years. Can't say I never used any other putter during that time but out of those 1,000+ rounds I used the Zebra for probably 99% of them.

I think I've only had one other putter that accumulated more than a couple of years continuous service. It was a Ping Anser 5BZ (face balanced) that I used for about three years just prior to getting the Zebra.
