My all time favorite band but geez I cannot believe they're still at it. Townshend in 2002 when I saw them was into some sort of arpeggio sp? method of playing his guitar and it was awful! Wish he had done his experimenting elsewhere. lol.. Saw them in 2000 when Entwistle was still with us and they were amazing. I am jealous though. Enjoy the show!

Still solid at age 75 or whatever they are. Townshend's guitar playing is amazing, and I liked the inclusion of the orchestra in the show this time. Though seeing them at Caesar's in Vegas a few years ago was better than the lawn at the pavilion down the street. Too many idiots who were there to converse loudly and smoke various things around me and my almost 7 month pregnant wife last night, and the lawn was full to the brim, so we wound up having to get out of the crowd for the last portion of it.

This has a distant cousin thing to do with this thread but hey some H.S. kids back in 2014 ripping Nugent/Amboy Dukes. Check the bass player out she absolutely kills it. Yeah the lead guitars need to be louder.

Vibes from the ole Checker Dome across from Forest Park be rising up through the St. Louis County soil with the Cup on the line. Damn same nearby fine soil I first started hitting golf balls on in 1977 during H.S.

I will always remember the 9 hole Ballwin, Mo. Muni soooo fondly.

If I'm not mistaken, the tackle sound was used here in 1979. Around the 3:53 mark....

Great thread. Thanks to all the contributors, been a fun trip down memory lane. I know this is barely making the 70's cutoff, but a lot of the songs I remember have been mentioned.

This is a fantastic song from the great Jeff Lynn of E.L.O ( and the Traveling Wilburys, natch) fame. The song sparked this great high

happy boogie energy movement decades later. Mr. Lynn is HOF for sure. It is a good one to watch.
