Cobra F9 Speedback Fairway MyFly question.

This might sound silly, but.... My buddy just bought a new Cobra F9, #5-6 Fairway wood. When adjusting the MyFly adapter, it appears the settings are backwards. Stock is 18.5*. In my mind, when we adjust the setting -1.5, it should take the loft to 17*. And when we adjust the setting +1.5, it should take the loft to 20*. But, when set at -1.5, the ball fly's higher and carries about 200 yards. When set at +1.5, the ball fly's lower and carries about 215 yards. (Hope that made sense)

 

Am I missing something?? 18.5 -1.5 should be 17 and 18.5 +1.5. Shouldn't it?

 

Someone please help this make sense.

Not sure if there is a thing as a left handed adapter...

Shot shape is the same straight flight with both settings. One setting just fly's higher than the other and doesn't carry as far...

Typically if you take a sleeve from a left handed club and put it into a right handed head the effects of the sleeve are reverse.

you should be able to tell just by looking at the club with the adapter in different positions. 1.5 deg difference in loft is easily visible. At +1.5 does the club look like it has more loft than standard or less?

There’s definitely a such thing as a left handed adapter.

If you take the shaft out of the club and sight down the shaft from the grip end to the tip it’s very clear to see how the tip bends. It’s very likely you have a left hand tip. If by chance you have two cobra shafts with adapters you will be able to see the difference between left and right hand.

It is definitely a Left Handed adapter. Even though it is a new club, the shaft is an upgrade, so I assume someone at the factory made a mistake, or the pro shop dropped an upgraded shaft in it for some reason, without realizing it was a left handed adapter.
