What club would you like to join?

Sort of true, but there is asymmetry of the give. How many rounds is the Augusta member willing and able to host in a season (from the perspective of their own busy schedule, more than club rules)? I can easily offer a home-and-home, because my home club is a couple miles from my house and I can host any time. By contrast, I'm a national member somewhere else and I'd never offer that because of the pain and suffering of aligning travel and schedules.

 

I will also argue (as I have above) that most of the Top 25 clubs have effectively the same opportunity. A guy at LACC is going to be able to get on any club with a little bit of legwork. Sure, he can't "pickin a tee time and weekend that's good for them" but the flipside threshold is much lower. Its easy to host guys from Oakmont who will get you back next time you're in the 'Burgh (which is who knows when). A guy from ANGC proposes a home-and-home...and you're taking him up on the offer ASAP.
