i210 Iron Ferrules / Reshafting Project

I couldn't find any threads where someone actually successfully reshafted a set of i210's and the ferrules used. Seems like Billy Bobs and GolfWorks both offer some ferrules but PING is seemingly switching ferrules for every club model. Has anyone used one of these collared ferrules with 100% success? I was planning to get the 0.540" OD ones (https://www.golfworks.com/ping-anser-i-20-355-iron-ferrules/p/bb9047/) from GolfWorks and I can just turn them down if they're a little too big. Thoughts? Yes, I just did my i210's with those golfworks ferrules you have linked, no issues, although they are a bit shorter than a standard ping.

Do the i210 have the same hosel design as the older ping irons where you still need to ram the last 1/4" down to seat them properly? I've read a couple of threads and it looks like ping changed this on the 410 and i500, but I'm trying to confirm with the i210.

Try a dry fitting by ramming the shaft in and see if it grabs at the bottom. Pretty sure it will. The 410, 700, and 500 have tungsten weights in the hosel so those are the heads with the cap at the bottom of the hosel (thus no interference fit).

I dont have one to take apart yet. A friend got a set that I am going to reshaft for him. I've used your method of fiberglass mesh tape on all my other ping builds. Was just curious if these needed a new method.

To close the loop on this. They were out of the 0.540" OD ferrules so I bought the 0.520" OD ones in the link below. They actually fit about perfect for the i210's and no finishing needed.

What was at the bottom of the hosel? A weight plug or nothing?
