The main problem is that 99% of those 99% wouldn't have the first idea how good or bad their swing was and, IF they realized it wasn't all that good, wouldn't have the first clue how to go about correcting it.

Video of one's swing coupled with instruction is one thing. Some instructional videos are worthwhile as well, but otherwise watching video of one's own swing would probably just lead to (even more) confusion.

The main problem is that people continue to toss around ridiculous stats in this thread. Blades are awesome, get over it.

And this across all skill levels.

For the pros however, as the oversize rackets were too powerful and hard to control, the mid-sized/"PCB" racket, turned out to be the best combination of power and accuracy.

>

> Now, I hardly watch any tennis at all anymore but I'm betting that most, if not all pros and other highly skilled players, are playing mid-size/"PCB" type rackets. Possibly a few are playing oversize/"GI" type rackets. I doubt there are any "small/"blade" type racket on the Pro Tennis circuit.

I do not know squat about tennis period. The only thing I know about tennis is sometimes they use lead tape on the rackets. LOL when I was in the wrecker business this kid worked part time dispatch was an avid tennis player. He was real shy too. One day he came to me and asked shyly if I had any lead tape. How much do you need ? as I retrieved a roll out of the door pocket of my pick up. I told him use as much as he wanted I had plenty. He put several pieces on a racket and explained to me why and what he was doing. Like I said I do not know squat about tennis but the physics of what he was doing and why made perfect sense to me. And no I have no idea what size the racket was or the brand

I agree 110% ---- I do not want to think over the ball period---- I am a classic example of paralysis by analysis----- My favorite saying "Just hit the ball stupid"---- Of course I will admit I am a feel and instinct player

The other item is the less consistent contact, where the 716 cb seems to fight my shallow swing a little—which was why I was thinking it might be a lie angle issue.

I moved to graphite to try and get some joint relief, but I've had more inconsistency than it feels like I should given where I am working with a coach. Was originally in DG120, now am in PX LX Tour graphite which are a lot lighter. Seems like an easy test to add some mass to the heads and see how the swing reacts.

Lead tape can be used to not just play with swing weight but to mess around with simulating a heavier shaft weight as well. Instead of putting the lead tape on the head, wrap it around the shaft a little bit below the grip. In fact it's usually easier to figure out the best shaft weight first - then play around with swing weight second.

After all, tempo swing thoughts are the glue that holds a bad swing together. How else can you time all the compensations?

Not wanting to see your swing on video on the grounds that it will make you over-analyze things is really silly. I mean, I get it I guess, but its really, really silly.

Well. I’m trying to shoot 67-69 every time I tee it up. Don’t succeed often. But a scoring average of 72.6 as of today says I’m not in possession of a “ bad swing “.

I’m certain you didn’t mean that as it sounded. So no harm done.

But I’ll add. Tempo is the glue that holds any swing together . Don’t believe it. Try speeding yours up, or if it’s fast naturally Pause at the top. Do it for a whole round. I’d bet you go 10 shots over your average. Tempo doesn’t mean slow. It means being aware of YOUR correct speed. Everybody has one.
