Installing G25 adapter on alta shaft

Just purchased a G400 driver alta shaft on ebay with no tip. Shaft is .335. Planning on installing a .335 G25 tip on it, but when i put the tip on the shaft it does not seat all the way on the shaft. Just curious if this is normal or i need to trim? Any help would be appreciated.

You might want to measure adapter depth using a stick or similar and then transfer that measurement to the shaft so you know how far it's going in. Did you remove all the old epoxy and paint from the shaft tip?

i removed the epoxy and sanded the paint down to flush. I also measured where it goes into the adapter and doesn't seat with approx 1/8-3/16" gap.

All I can recommend is for you to review all the basics. If the adapter is a reuse part there may be some epoxy remaining inside. And same thing for the shaft (maybe some epoxy or paint still on the tip). If you are using an aftermarket adapter there may be something funny going on with the ID too. Maybe try a different shaft in the adapter?
