Congrats on the find, glad you were finally able to locate them after your relative lack of enthusiasm over the refinished set. Even if those were stunning in appearance, much better to find actual set up you wanted all along?

honestly the refinishing made the irons feel different. Really different actually. The Black Vokeys were Rocks compared to the unfinished SM2.

Funny, I just bought a set of 53s on Kijiji today. Very minty condition (don't look to have more than 30 rounds on them) w/ KBS Tour stiffs. Can't wait to give them a go tonight, absolutely great looking irons. Congrats on the purchase OP!

I'd be interested in the backstory. Someone's husband dies and the widow forgets about them? Proshop goes out of business and years later someone looks in the backroom and behold! I actually knew a guy who won a set of irons in a raffle, put them up and forgot about them.

I'm guessing a ebay selling bought old stock from a small pro shop or golf store? They were in plastic and the grips were still in plastic and aren't dryed out lead me to believe they were in a box definitely not on display.

Can't wait to put them into play tomorrow

What a great find. My Studio Stainless Scotty was similar though not in plastic. Guy bought it in '04 (he gave me the Golftown receipt), used it a couple of times, then stuck it in the closet. Thing was new. These are the finds you don't let go of.

I also recently found a nice set of these. Gonna swap out the shafts sometime this summer and give them a run. My all time favorite irons are the MP-15’s. Between hoarding older classics and the new mp series out later this year, I’ll be spending a lot of money on the running bird.

Congrats man. I loved my mp53s before I sold them to my buddy. He still plays them. Honestly still kick myself for getting rid of them some days
