A heavier version of the Bridgestone xFIXx ball

I like the Bridgestone xFIXx golf ball as I find I can actually shape shots with it to a degree, however I would prefer the ball to feel a little less light (less marshmallowy).

Can anyone suggest a ball performs like the xFIXx but feels a little firmer?

Try Bridgestone Extra Soft. Compression in the 50's.

Am I right in thinking the higher the compression the firmer the feel?

 

Does you, anyone, know the compression ratings for the Treosoft, xFIXx, and Extra Soft balls, and therefore which of these should feel firmer?

And for comparison what is the compression of NXT Tour S, another 2 piece ball?

I wonder if they have the same compression and therefore are the exact same ball just with a different name.

Yes, more compression, equals more firmness. Bridgestone Extra Soft's compression is in the 50's.Not sure about the Treosoft, xFIXx. Also, you might like the Srixon Soft Feel, two piece with 60 compression or the Wilson 50 Elite, with 50 compression. I think the balls like Supersoft feel too soft.

xFIXx and the NXT Tour S were similar overall compression (low-mid 80s on the ATTI scale) and we’re on the softer end of the cover hardness spectrum when it comes to Surlyn covers. The problem is that the few 2-piece balls with higher overall compression than this also have noticably harder covers. Everything else will be lower compression which is counterintuitive to what you are seeking.

 

Are you focused solely on 2-piece Surlyn balls for any particular reason?

Looking to play a 2 piece ball as not too hot with my game right now. I find non-urethane balls are straighter. Non-urethane 3 piece balls I find too hard feeling due to the mantle layer, however multi-layer urethane balls feel soft even though they have a mantle layer too.

I had to draw the xFIXx once and it really did draw round. Right there and then I played the same shot with an NXT tour S, DT Trusoft and a Warbird and they just didn't draw anywhere near as much.

 

Did you know why this would be? I hit all the shots the same but the xFIXx really did shape more than the others.
