Titleist Velocity vs Pinnacle Rush distance...

Playing a round yesterday I found a Titleist Velocity in the woods while looking for my ball, a Pinnacle Rush (which I did find). I was playing with my daughter, so it wasn't a real serious round, so just for yucks I decided to hit the Titleist off the tee on the next hole. Well, I continued using it the rest of the round because I was getting 15-20 yards more distance. I was gobsmacked! I thought these were similar balls.

when you pure the Titleist it feels quite good & it shoots off the face you get the distance & roll, feels like hitting a cinder block, but still usable, when you get up to the green (especially a well protected green with hazards) i would rather have the Rush.

kinda difficult to pull the Titleist up on scoring shots, thats what i have found anyway.

Is what I experienced possibly explained by the fact that Pinnacles are urethane while the Velocity is surlyn?

Pretty sure the Pinnacles are surlyn (ionomer) as well.

The detailed page mentions ionomer so not sure what's up with the summary page. The Pinnacle website does as well (ionomer).

They are indeed ionomer,but played one today and stuck some greens quite well , they rolled out a few feet with long irons but actually not bad at all , sure if I use a premium ball it backs up but many times off the green doesn't really help that often , definitely putted faster but for most people if you played it all the time and got use to it , it would be a great ball .

The Pinnacle Rush ball is one heck of a ball for the price. They really are a great ball and very much under the radar. The Vice Drive ball is great too as both these balls are very long driving balls. They play as well as the high priced balls.

Surlyn is an ionomer. Pinnacle probably calls it ionomer to distinguish it as different from surlyn to give the appearance that they're different from Titleist, even though they're made in the same factories.

A 13 hdcp, been playing the Velocity this year, until I saw this Rush information.  When I learned of the dimple configuration of the Rush, it seemed very similar to the Velocity, and also made by Acushnet!  The Rush is also $19 per 15-pack on Amazon.  Any comments or similar findings about my theory?   Would love some feedback please.

Their dimple patterns are different. However, I've been to an Acushnet factory where I saw Titleist and Pinnacle balls coming off the same production line, those to one bin to be stamped 'Titleist', those to the other to be stamped 'Pinnacle'.

Current model Velocity balls are 2pc with 350 dimples.  Current model Pinnacle balls are 2pc with 332 dimples. There are no current model Titleist balls with that configuration on the conforming list.

The old Pinnacle Gold was the same ball as the Velocity.  No idea re: the Rush vs. Velocity.

The Rush seems to be a little more “clicky” than the Velocity. Both are good distance balls.

The only reason not to play them is trajectory. They flight higher than urethane and if you can hit them high, they are just as good at holding as anything. Unless you hit your shots really low, most folks wouldn’t lose much control with the Rush, even around the green.
