Walking in Footjoy Icons

Does anybody wear Icons and walk most of your rounds? I love the look of the shield tips but I'm concerned they won't be comfortable enough to walk in. I know the pros do, but they're not carrying their bags around.

I've been wearing Icon's lately, walking, and love them. Awesome shoes. I use a push cart and doubt carrying would make much difference in terms of how comfortable the shoes feel.

A well made shoe that suits your feet will be great for walking. The only other thing that might make walking easier would be a lightweight shoe but that's a minor factor for just 18 holes a couple times a week.

 

Generally, if a shoe is not comfortable to walk 18 holes on a typical golf course then its a shoe that doesn't really fit or suit your foot and gait. I've known guys who regularly wore obviously uncomfortable, ill-fitting shoes but since they're riding in carts they say, "They're not bad when you're riding". Even though I can see by the end of the round they are walking like their feet are killing them (and can't wait to get to the locker room and change shoes).

 

It's a stereotype that wearing stylish shoes that wreck your feet is a woman thing. It's true of quite a few male golfers, as well.

I do. They are fine. They are not as light on the feet as my Pumas are for instance, but Icons are completely comfortable for multi-days of consecutive walking.

Yes, they are great. I have tried a lot of shoes, most by FJ that are supposed to be "more comfortable", and I always end up back in my icons.

I only wear FJ shoes and the majority of them are Icon's so I probably play about 80-90% of my rounds in Icon's and I only ever walk. Never had any issues. Stable and comfortable.

once broken in they are perfect. a little heavier, but fine.

When I do walk I often prefer walking in Icons. The Icons I most often wear for walking are a few years old they fit very well and make walking easy. I believe they are more comfortable for walking than most of my athletic style golf shoes with the exception of the Adidas 360 boost, but I have walked in Icons for years, without issue.

That’s all I wear and I walk most of the time. Great shoes. So much better than the athletic styles in my opinion. Clearly a personal preference but they are more stable for me.

If I’m gonna walk I wear my Nikes. Oh wait I don’t walk so Icons it is!

I don't anymore but I used to walk in Icons all the time. These days its G/Fores for me. Stable but a little lighter than the Icons.

I will echo what others have said that they are decent for walking. Not as comfortable as others, but definitely do-able.

Fit and support trump weight for walking. The lightest shoe that slips and squirms will soon be painful. Icons come in extra narrow, and they firmly tighten around my arch and hold my heel without slipping. I walk and carry exclusively, usually 18 but sometimes 27 in a day. Have Icons, Pro SLs, DNA Helix, and older Contours. All are good, but the Icons are the best fit.

Great phrase "slip and squirm", that's a great way to describe what my feet do with the recent minimal, low-profile or ultralightweight golf shoes. Nothing makes your feet more tired than 3-1/2 hours, 4-1/2 miles and dozens of golf swings with your

The best I had owned, between the broken-in and wearing out the insoles. They last a long, long time. Last pair I had, changed 4 sets of soft spikes on them, still in line ready for the wet and soggy days. I keep a couple pairs for the bad weather so I don't soil the newer pairs.

I have not found a good way of keeping the white leather looking like new .
