Yep the CB is slightly wider thus slightly different effective bounce. I agree mb and cb are the same at address.

‘19 are only dark DBM finish and to me are gold std of dark finish irons. ‘16 were available in chrome and dbm. Duff is recently bagging the ‘16 chrome. But I agree with others that the tungsten placement in the ‘19 is an improvement.

Has anyone gotten a harsh feel with them? I was at a Cobra demo day trying the F9 driver. Spotted the MB's and was really intrigued to try them - loved the compact/more rounded profile. They set up very similar to my MP-30s, but they felt/sounded quite a bit more clicky/harsh. I don't know if it was just a shaft difference or what. I think the Cobras had some sort of KBS shaft vs my MP-30s with DG x200s

Yeah, I would agree they have a bit of a harder feel. I don't mind it.

Okay - glad to know I wasn't losing my head. I didn't mind the feel, I think it was just more of a shock as I had an expectation of it being a certain way before I hit it, and hitting it back and forth with the Mizunos made it a bit harder to adjust.

Just buy a single iron and mix it into your gamer set. You'll know real quick if it works for you. As it was after testing 7 i from the cart I bought a 5 i and it quickly replaced my gamer Adams A4 CB 5i which I had 2 sets and played for 10 years. I luv these irons

I had the black 16s CB/MB and loved them. For some reason sold them. Recently went with 19 CB/MB. Wow. Best irons Ive played. I would recommend the mixed "stock" set MB P-7 and CB 6-4. BUT if you really want only one, I would say CBs. They are rocket launchers and might actually feel "softer" or better than MB. Either way the shaft choice and finish on these irons are a perfect fit. Black that actually holds up is awesome. (I've had black AP2, black 790, and black Apex pro 19). These irons kicked the MP18 MB out of the bag and beat out I210 and the above mentioned. Do yourself a favor and just get a set. These are actually making me think about Cobra wedges and that's just silly talk.

I did happen upon a ‘19 mb gap wedge (50 deg) at golf galaxay used rack which was like new for $45. Been comparing it against my 50 deg ping stealth which has been money. So far it’s virtually identical except it seems like the compact cobra gets thru the ruff a little easier. So Zprime got me thinking maybe pick up some mb’s in 8-pw and build a back up set ?

If you get them with graphite shafts (recoil is offered), does anyone know if they come at the same length as steel and can they still achieve D1 or D2 swingweight? I don’t like overlength irons (as in like an inch longer; an extra 1/4 or 1/2 inch doesn’t seem to bother me.) Just wondering because I am betting these clubs feel great with a Recoil 95 or 110.

I bought a single ‘19 cb 5i with the 120g $ taper that was 38 1/4” with cobra connect grip which is +1/4”. It was d-2. Disassembled and found a 2g tip weight, 254g head. Total club weight was 427g. Then I pulled a recoil 95 from my Adams A4 as I played Recoils in those for several years and put it straight in to the Cobra. Using a tour velvet grip it plays at 38 1/4” same as my A4 and total weight is 402g and D2.

I picked up a set consisting of 4-9 CB and MB PW with Nippon Modus3 120 in them and I am hooked. Love the look, the feel, and they produce the flat trajectory that I was after. Very underrated iron in my opinion. I was playing TM P770/P750 combo and I have to say these are much better.

Tiger likes his irons to have a harder feel or click. These have click. Everyone likes Tiger. If you buy these, you’re Tiger. Everyone will like you. Everyone likes these irons.

No but seriously, of all the MBs offered, these are the most appealing. Just wish they could X100 onyx as a standard shaft. That or KBS Tour 130x in black.

Still an ok deal I'd say. They have some tungsten in the toe, but none in the sole. That's the only difference. KBS shafts has me more worried. Bent tips are still a thing, aren't they?

No, they really aren’t a thing. Have personally never had one bend. An urban legend borne of someone saying some CTaper tips bent years ago. Probably someone who likes a competitor’s shaft. Tons of pro golfers play KBS shafts. And any tip could bend if you slam it into something hard enough. I have seen Project X and DG shafts with bent tips. Bad golfers do break things. But the notion that KBS has a design flaw that causes them to bend easily is completely false.

There are quite a few threads on WRX about KBS shafts bending. A bit more than an urban legend I'd say.

I cannot say enough good words about these clubs. I have played them for 3 years, and coming from Mizunos for 15+ years this is the best set of clubs I have ever owned and have transformed my iron play. The tungsten weight on the toe is a game changer. I have a mb/cb combo with the 4i as a CB and I have them shafted with PXi 6.5s and for my game/swing, they smooth, long and accurate. Regarding blade vs cavity: if I had to re-buy this set, I would get a combo set but have the 5 and maybe even 6 as a cavity. 7i-PW I like the solid MB feel, but I LOVE the the CB 4i. The feel and forgiveness of the CB on the long irons is NOT negligible for me. For whatever reason I can go after it with no fear of harshness and it goes straight as an arrow. So, Ideally PW-7i MB, 6i-4i CB.

I just worry about the very compact head. I think it may be the smallest out there.

I currently play Adams XTD Forged irons (I have 3 sets..) and I didn't find the 2019 Cobra MB's that hard to hit.. they are not as small as you'd think, but I'm also waiting to see and hit the Ping Blueprints before I more on either of them.
