TM - M5, M5 Tour, M6, M6 D-Type

Callaway - Epic Flash, EF SZ, Rogue, Rogue SZ

Ping (last year) - G400, LST, SFT and MAX

Definitely aimed at being a G400 MAX competitor. They're doing the same type of extreme low and back weighting like the MAX, F9, and M6, but going with the ultra light angle for slower swingers. Slightly gimmicky I think and seems like a recipe for "great on the sim, wild on the course", but with a more standard weight setup I think it could be a real G400 MAX challenger. We'll see!

 

Also the sole design looks like something out of Batman's utility belt. ?

I know they've released 3 at one time with the 915 range, 4 could well be new ground for them.

 

Although it's 5 if you count the C16 range....

it won't sell. nobody wants to step up with a driver that everyone thinks is "higher spin". You can get lighter weights for ts2 and put a lighter shaft in it.

My thought exactly. I demoed the XXIO X driver with the Stiff/Regular shaft for four rounds and compared it againest my Epic Flash and M5. The XXIO X is a great stick and is ridiculously consistent, almost to the yard. My other two drivers were either 10 +/- yards shorter or 10++ yards longer carry. TS1 now tempts me. I am that demographic. A real 220+/- yards carry and not getting any younger!

This is definitely something I want to consider. I was just contemplating a mini driver to try and get more swing speed, but this seems like a much better alternative. I'm going to be watching for some reviews to see if this delivers, and if so, I'll be getting fit for one when they are released.

actually it will sell to a very large demographic of golfers, just not to wrx members cuz we all hate spin and have 134mph clubheadspeed.

Me personally, I don't have a problem for a major OEM like Titleist releasing multiple variations of a driver or iron in their product release cycle. What I do have a problem is those OEMs that old back a variation or two of that club during the first release and then release it a few months later which would really piss off customers that bought the first batch of clubs. When it is time for OEM to introduce their clubs for this coming golfing year, they should release ALL of their models and variations and not hold anything back. That way, the customer knows that he will get the best club that is suited to his swing and be fully confident that his new purchase will not become obsolete until a newer club comes out in the next product release cycle.

Cleveland Classic came in 270, 290 and 310g total club weight.

Was reading a Yamaha release two days ago 4 models. You guys need to congratulate Titleist for catering to the xxio style folk.50 gram shafts were made for these options not wrxrs !

Not a driver for me but more options the better. The only issue I have is this staggered release nonsense that is becoming a trend. Really stinks for the consumer.

I feel the same way. I dont mind them having 4 drivers. But the releases need to be all at the same time.

Agreed. A lot people who bought a TS2 would've probably been better off with this.

Same thing can be said for the TS4, Triple Diamond, G410LST or the apex pro dots

This is capitalism at its finest. They are taking advantage of consumption patterns. They're also now a publicly traded company with a fiduciary responsibility to there investors. its no surprise to me at all they're following the Callaway model. I'd expect more and more of this from them.

No issue with Titleist having four drivers out at any one time, as with others though, the staggered release is slightly contemptuous to customers who might have gone TS2 but would have been a better fit for TS2. The same thing can be said for TS3 and TS4. Clearly, these drivers have been in the works for sometime. There seems to be no reason why they couldn't have released them last September.

Titleist is still doing what they normal do which is clubs on a two year life cycle. They've just added more specialized releases and staggered them. They release 2 Drivers each year, the first two are mass consumer (TS2, TS3) and the next year are the more niche market drivers (TS1, TS4). This is more similar to ping with the G400 max release then TM and Callaway who replace their mass market driver every year.
