Last time I sold something on BST (716 AP2), I got 2 PMs offering half or less than what I was asking... and the starting price I threw out was more than fair because I wanted to move them quickly. I knocked off $30 for shipping to the first person who sent me a reasonable offer.

"Dude, if youre going to get this agitated during the negotiation process (which we're not in, you havent given me a number) , i'm certainly not going to sell something to you." He probably called me a dick and started a thread about it.

Well this isn't about you, so there is that. Many people feel that different numbers are "low ball" offers especially when you're talking about items that are less than $100. If something is listed for $80 and I send an offer of $60, is that a low ball offer? Is that a decent offer? I'm sure that could illicit different responses. Asking what someone is willing to take doesn't seem too off. I think a simple response could be "hey i'll take $10 off but with shipping and what not I don't want to lose money". I honestly don't think that's to off.

You're right. This isn't about me. This is about you. You asked if the guy was a d ick. Most (all? I dunno. I'm reading this thread a second time) of the responses say that he isnt. Most of the responses on how a seller handles things have been answered by WRXers with a long past on the BST. You don't seem to like the answers, which is fine. Just don't expect that you're going to get as many responses from inquiries as you'd like, and you should probably expect that items will get sold to other people even if you are the first one to respond.

Eh... I'm all about a deal, but there's way too many good deals on shoes all over the internet for me to buy used - "minty" or not. I wasn't judging, just thinking out loud. Maybe I'm weird like Howie Mandel or something, but I even immediately change grips when I buy a used club. To each their own, but I have no desire to deal in other's bodily funk.

Next you're going to tell me that I shouldnt have bought that guy's used socks too...

I kid. Back in the day I bought 3 used pair of shoes off the BST. I don't regret it a bit. They were great shape FJ Icons with some fancy animal hides. Granted, they are heavy as hell and I rarely wear them, but I'd do it again if presented the chance. I think I got them for something stupid like $50 for all 3. That being said, I have jumped on the Nike train pretty hard and have shoes coming out my ears now.

If you throw out a price, I'll respond. If its a super discounted price that is crazy... you might just get a "no thanks". If its closer, I might counter offer.

If you ask me "what's the lowest you'll take" I really don't think you are a serious buyer. That is the key here is if you are seriously interested in something, make a fair offer.
