Those look fantastic. At least Titleist is getting something right with the *20 series.

Like the looks of the 620. Like the raw or naked cavity as opposed to the set in JT’s pics where it looks like there’s a badge of some sort glued on back of cavity. Hopefully they release what’s in first pics.

PS actually looking at cavity a little closer there are some subtle differences as to the structure of said cavity. Slightly different but different positions as to where the cb lettering is placed and little difference in the lines in cavity, but overall shape very similar. Obviously JT’s are the 718 cb but the newer 620’s look to have made some small esthetic improvements to the 718 design imo.

The CB in JT's bag is a satin finished 718 CB instead of chrome. It's not the new iron.

Do you think the name “620 Forged” has anything to do with them being made of 8620 carbon steel? There has definitely been a trend in the industry towards the use of forged 8620 carbon steel because its more durable. Recent example of irons made with 8620 include PING Blueprints and Wilson Staff Model Blades both of which look great and still feel incredibly soft.

Could be.

8620 has been used in the past as well with other W/S irons (V6’s and C300 Forged). The Ping Glide wedges are 8620 as well.

Personally I like the feel of 8620 more than 1025, with 1020 and S20c being the softest out of them all in my opinion.

Srixon uses 1020 in all their forgings and Honma uses S20c in their new Tour World lineup. I was incredibly impressed with the feel from the new Honma irons, by FAR the softest irons I’ve ever hit, put Mizuno to shame.

Agreed that was my first thought but it also looks like they could've potentially slapped a 718 CB badge over the actual cavity if it's a prototype.

Clubs look different in satin. The MB looks different from retail but the CB looks pretty identical to the 718. It's certainly not the 620 in the photo.

That’s a clean, good looking stick! I just haven’t been a fan for years (and I buy them anyway!) of the Titleist forged feel. It’s very clicky. The last set that had a soft feel was the 710’s. I bet there’s something inside that cavity! Just looks the part. BB

Thats a sexy iron. Will they also be selling me the game I need to bag these?

EDIT: Wow. Not allowed to say that word huh? Beautiful. I guess I will call it a beautiful iron.

My guess is “6” going back to the players iron prefix designation of the past (660, 670, 680, 690, 695) + “20” for the 2020 release year.

A good possibility. Since the Vokeys have always been 8620 why not their CB and MB. More durable and not as costly as forging a carbon steel. Could help with bottom line as Titleist isn’t exactly the sales leader in clubs so far in 2019. TS Woods have dropped off after initial surge. As soon as TM, Callaway, Cobra stuff came out Titleist kind of fizzled. I don’t think there is a trend towards forging 8620. Ping has only used 8620 in their forgings 2010 and 2013 Forged Ansers and Glide forged so nothing new there. Wilson has done a couple in 8620 for sure. Doubt Titleist Japan will offer a forged 8620 CB or MB.. Does look like the CB piece is a glued insert or appliqué. Maybe a vibration reduction piece not a swing weight adjustment.
