Actually I do prefer wood tees but will use plastic too---- It does not really matter one way or the other to me--- I find plenty of both

I like wood simply because some of the plastic tend to bend when you try to push them into firmer ground. I use whatever I get for free generally though.

LOL the tourist golfers provide mine most of the time---- But a friend of mine owns the local pancake house and he was one of my sponsors in the last of my mini tour days he gives away wooden tees free--- Lately he has given me a bunch of pink ones--- Seems the customers will not pick the pink tees from the bucket on the counter--- He knows I do not give 2 rips so he saves them for me

LOL I am 62 years old and have never bought a tee in my life. My old man ran a muni type course and I worked the cart barn for years so I would find plenty of tees> I also pick them up off the ground. Like Leejohn I have played at plenty of Country Clubs that give them away for free. You might not be old enough to know what I am talking about here but I have several Chase & Sanborn coffee cans full of tees probably some 50 years old

Well, the local car dealership has provided our club with free/sponsor plastic tees. Since he's done that, my bag has filled up with tees....they don't break (or nearly as often), so I end up with more than I started (can't stand leaving a good tee on the tee box) and they end up in my bag. Literally must have 500 or more plastic tees in my bag pockets. Someone at our club has these cute itty-bitty tees, maybe 3/4-1.0 inch long?....I'd like to get some of those.

golfwrx problems.

I play either. I bought a pack when I first picked up the game about 7 years ago. I have so many tees now...and still most of the original pack I bought.

I grab a few when the course provides for free still, and I still pick up good tees on the tee box....to clean up the teeing ground a little, leave the course better than you found it right??

Plastic, because they last longer.

Generally, though, I put a couple in my pocket from my personal stash and then use what I find out there on the tee box. Some days, I joke that's the only "plus" thing about my round (too many strokes, too many lost balls, but at least I came away net positive on tees! )

More frustrating is waiting on your playing partner to scour the earth looking for his tee after every tee shot. I use wood and prefer painted ones. If it’s there after I tee off I pick it up, if not I move along.

I agree! A buddy gave me one to try and I love it. Still playing it but bought a pack to keep on hand if I lose or break the gifted one. I use the one that has the knob on it to tee it the same height every time.
