MG Golf Rangedinders- Any reviews?

I just got a catalog from MG golf today and it has rangefinders. I was looking at a cheap rangefinder mainly for the range as I use GPS on course and wanted your thoughts on this. They have a slope version for $120 and a few other features and a basic model for $100. Anyone have any thoughts?

I have a friend who bought one and he’s happy with it. Seems to lock on to flags easily and quickly. His has digital readout on the side also. Seems to be a good unit at a fair price. I’ve found everything that I’ve purchased from MG to be really good, no complaints.

I've tested against Bushnells and there is maybe +-2 yard difference at most. Love the slope version and you can always turn it off. Has all features like vibrate locking to target that you'd want

Very pleased with mine. Sighted in the range where I work part time. Worked great. Easy to use.

I can’t get mine to give me the same reading twice. It eventually works after several shoots but I really don’t trust it. More hassle than it’s worth

FWIW MG was great about the return. I’ll still use them for gloves and balls

I've been using the slope version for about, I would say, 3 years now. Works great and gets the job done. Point to the flag, rangefinder gives me a reading with a pin looking logo on the range finder with the yardage, hit the shot and pray to golf Gods the shot goes to where the rangefinder target was. I haven't used any other rangefinder though. Only issue, may be related to other rangefinder though, played in the fog during the winter a few times, could not get target reading(s), always seemed to say 6-8 yards. Once the fog cleared though, it locked on as usual.

 

Just this week only thing i've encountered would be another dead battery. Original battery lasted about 2 years. I'm on my 2nd battery replacement now; OG 1.75-2 years, Panasonic off amazon about .75-1 year, 2nd battery replaced this week. Overall I'm happy with it. I use to play with slope on, but now, I play with slope off for handicap logging (and I'm familiar with the increase or drop yardage for the local courses I play ) purposes. Slope function I think will help fine tune things quicker during practice rounds.
