Bridgestone Tour B vs Srixon Z-Star XV

Trying to decide my ball for this year. Played the CSX last year, but as a high spin, high launch player, didn't suit me. Right now I'm looking at the Tour B and the XV. Can anyone compare the two for me?

I’m also interested in someone else’s more informed opinion. I’ve played both, and I don’t have discerning enough skill to be able to pick a winner. Both feel very similar off putter and driver, and both seem to do well in the wind.

 

I tend to like a firmer ball off the putter, and I like both of these.

Life ling Prov 1X player. Played 19 x ball in 25 mph winds for two days, ball was horrible way too spinny... I tried the 19 XV for the first time the last day and the ball was brilliant in the wind, felt softer around greens and great stopping power with irons, I am sold. I think this is the best ball for me ever.... I would give it a vote to try...

Im a +2 cap with driver SS of 125-128, 7 iron goes 190 and 60* wedge goes 110. I’m a long ball hitter with a good short game so the 2 areas I look at the most are driver flight stability and wedge performance. I prefer to hit my wedges as low as possible while maintaining max spin so I can essentially skip the ball to back hole locations or rip it back if needed. I played 2017 XV for as long as they were for sale (2.5 yrs). Recently switched to Tour Bx and it is a really good ball. The reason I switched is for the lower peak height overall on all shots and the low launch/ high spin/ low flying wedge shots that are a bit easier to hit than the new Srixon XV. I found new XV to kind of float just a bit and they scuff extremely easy compared to the ‘17 version. For now I could play either the Tour Bx or my stash of 2017 XV’s but I couldn’t get comfortable with the 2019 XV for the reasons listed above. Still a fantastic ball no doubt but for me at this point the Tour Bx just fits. The performance was really surprising to be honest. I used to play the original B330 back in the day and this is the first Bridgestone ball since the OG that I feel is tipping the top of the tour ball category if not thee top.

I've played Srixon for years as I originally switched as it seemed like my entire club plays a Titleist of one form or another and this way I didn't have to worry about marking my ball. I decided to give the Bridgestone a try this year and thought it was a good ball. I could easily game either of them but ended up sticking with the Srixon. Mostly because it is what I know but I also feel it is a touch more durable.
