Why "female Rory McIlroy?"

Hope to see her as well, was impressed with her at the ANWC.

Yuka is not big but like Rory, her clubhead speed is among the tops in women's golf.

At ANWA, she looked for Niall Horan; because she's a huge fan of Rory and she knew Niall and Rory were good friends.

The way she finishes her swing is carbon copy of Rory's.

Thanks for posting this, I find these pairings and this tournament really interesting. Some are obvious, and others beg questions of why? Not in a bad way mind you, but I would love to be able to ask some of them why they chose to partner up with who they did. Is it tactical? Just a relaxing round golfing with a good friend? I look at Lexi/Cristie and I know they seem to get along, but their games also really do compliment each other. Then I look at Lydia/In Gee and they're both not long hitters so I would assume it's a friendship thing. I don't know, all I know is I'm having flashbacks of captain's picks in gym dodge ball... (Full disclosure, I was a dark horse middle of the pack pick who would mop up Patches O'Houlihan-style)

In Gee's only problem is she's too good looking compared to the creeps surrounding her. She's going to win again and again. Why do you give her a hard time?

I am not too concerned about In Gee. If she is redoing her swing architecture, there will be a period of pain. Her talent will get her to more wins eventually, I believe. Anyway, we'll see!

Looks like a new event in Boca Raton, FL starting in 2020

https://www.lpga.com/news/2019-lpga-announces-gainbridge-lpga-at-boca-rio

Hope this doesn't mean another event is going away and this is "replacing" it. People have touted the stability in number of events as positive, but I thik stability would be really beig able to build more permanent relationships in certain markets. Gotta follow the money though.

Also came across this:

www.egglandsbestladiesprogolftour.com

Looks like a level below the Symetra Tour. With WPGT, Cactus tour and this, the opportunities to get competition look to be getting more robust.

Now, there will be events in central Florida, SE Florida, and SW Florida. Is there room for more in FL? I remeber the pictures of the Coates event in Ocala and the galleries were almost PGA Tour size galleries.

We'll wait and see if this isn't a replacement event for something falling off the caledar elsewhere.

IMO this is the player who is the next American "Big Gun", she has the ability in terms of impact and doing it at an early age, like Lydia, Brooke, Lexi and Minjee. Alexa seems like the real deal to me.

I agree that she will most probably be the "next big thing" in women's golf for the United States ... but, she's still only 14 (or is it 15?) ... and I think the golfing public would do well to rein in the expectations so that she has a good chance of maturing away from what will most likely become "unreal expectations".

I think Michelle Wie fell "victim" to the next big thing syndrome and never lived up to those "unreal expectations" to the point of "underachieving" ... though well compensated for it nonetheless.

I think they are doing things the right way with Alexa. I think one of the biggest things that hurt Michelle was never learning how to beat her peers. You gotta put in the wotk in the AMs and once you can dominate there, than you can think about moving up to the pro's.

As @Stooch mentioned in the Meijer thread, some fairly big moves this week in the world rankings. Lexi moves up 2 spots to #2. Brooke moves up three spots to #5.

That said, there's so much parity at the top right now that any decent showing is going to shuffle things. 6ix has a 2nd, a 2T, and wins a major in her last 5 starts, but falls two spots after a "horrific" 33T this week. Ouch.

And I think that you have underlined the very problem with the Rolex Ranking system. The "divisor" or events played is one issue as it seems to reward a certain number of events played. The other is that there seems to be a disproportionate weighting system that simply does not value top 10 finishes anywhere near where they should.

I have mixed feelings about the weightings on the rankings. A "best" player has to win, and not just collect top 10's. Being close and finishing 2nd is also a good measure. How many times did Jack finish 2nd?
