Affordable Michigan Golf Weekend Buddies Trip?

Looking to plan a golf trip in Michigan for 12 guys (Arrive Friday, leave Sunday). Standard "Ryder Cup" style trip with buddies. No real preference on where in the state we go, we all live in Metro Detroit. Last year we did it in the Fall at Treetops and got a fantastic deal. Looking to do a date in either August or September so we know the prices will be a bit higher, but just looking to find the best deal out there at a place that is maybe not as big of a "Name" as Treetops, and is more affordable.

 

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Are you signed up for GroupGolfer emails? They just had a good deal for Lakewood Shores last weekend, and Treetops a month or so ago, unfortunately they don't repeat them. They usually have one for Crystal Mountain during the summer, and while I haven't bought that deal before I have been there frequently and enjoy it. I believe their rate drops slightly in September, for sure in October. A Ga Ming is an option as well.

I have a group of 24 heading to the Ridge in Gaylord next weekend. $325 per man for 18, 36, 9 with 2 breaky's and 2 dinners. We play Loon, Lakes and Ridge with an offsite round at Michaywe Pines (awesome course BTW). Most of us head up the day before and they charge us $75 for the extra night with breakfast and 9 holes Friday morning. It's the best deal I can find in Northern Michigan. They also have a shuttle that holds about 20 guys and their clubs so you don't have to drive around. The courses are not bad but the guys really like the lodging and proximity to the pro shop/restaurant.

Gull Lake View was always a good trip as well as Boyne and Treetops.

I preferred Gull lakes lodging as it was a two room condo vs some of the hotel rooms at treetops/Boyne.

Shanty Creek is affordable as well. The Loon in Gaylord also has nice deals

GL has become pretty darn expensive for what and where it is. I have been going in May for the last 15 years and there are certainly better deals to be had in the state.

I haven't been there in about 6 years now. Was always priced well when we went outside of the restaurant on the resort itself

We did Gull Lake View last year and it was reasonably priced and offered a bunch of different course options. Stoatin Brae was pretty nice.

ill second gull lake. The drive home after a long weekend is also a lot better than up north

Look into Garland, they do a nice discount when you get to 12 Golfers. 4 course one location is nice. I would also 2nd Lakewood shores, missed out on the group golfer, but they are great to work with, give them a call and they might cut you a deal. Gails is one of my favorites courses.
