431 Stainless. More elastomer (think i210). New Z-Z115 stock shaft. New Dylawedge-lite grip. No plans for a stealth finish yet. Pretty much an upgraded 2.0 chrome wedge.

I appreciate it guys. I was hoping for 8620 and stealth finish.

I’ve been told that if they Ping does them in stealth then they will be 8620. But a stealth finish, if it happens, won’t be with the initial release.

Doesn't sound bad except the lack of stealth and 8620. Think I'll go ahead and grab a spare set of stealth 2.0s.

**NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO**

Guess I'm possibly going to try and pick up another LW and SW then.

With how soft the i210s are with their extra elastomer, I’m sure the Glide 3.0s will feel great. The extra durability of 431 over 8620 is nice on a wedge. I would be surprised if a stealth doesn’t come out later, but I don’t see the regular 3.0s feeling harsh.

I'm also hoping they release a 3.0 stealth but not only that, maybe some lower bounce options for the SW. I'm already about to buy the TS grind for the summer because the bunkers really start to dry out and firm up... but longer shots I like to use my 54*. 12* of bounce off thin, firm sand isn't the most fun... Very little margin for error with that sole. But it's so good out of fluffy/thick lies.

I love PING, but for goodness sakes, why don’t they just make Dynamic Gold the stock shaft? Drives me nuts.

I’m guessing you knew what I meant but chose to be the smart guy. Let me clarify. When I go buy a PING Glide 3.0 wedge off the rack, it should have a Dynamic Gold shaft in it. I’m not talking no-charge upgrades. I’m talking bone stock wedges I would buy at a golf shop.

See the difference? One I can run to the store and buy, the other I have to wait a few weeks to get. Imagine how much better buying used PING wedges would be if the majority didn’t have shafts like AWT 2.0 but instead had the most popular wedge shaft, dynamic gold.

I would respond by saying most popular is still most popular.

I'll be that guy that brings it up in this thread...

GolfWRX is not representative of the general golfing public. Most of the club players here wouldn't know the difference between the AWT wedge shaft and a Dynamic Gold Tour Issue if I explained the difference and showed them. The stock wedge shafts are awesome for the player that hasn't replaced their wedge in 5 years.

The standard Dynamic Gold is stock in the Glide Forged and we have 3 of those sitting in the rack still. You think Mr. Haverkamp is snapping those up because they have "real deal" Dynamic Gold shafts in them? No. He doesn't know his a** from his elbow when it comes to wedges. We need to remember that we're a minority group when it comes to how much we care/know about our equipment.

Besides, any WRXer knows it basically a cardinal sin to buy things off the rack...

This isn’t going to sidetrack the thread at all...

Typically, it’s the only option in most wedges because the amount of stock stores would have to carry to go with all the lofts, grinds, and now shafts would be insane. I appreciate the variation with Cleveland giving us a legit S400 as stock versus the stock “wedge flex” one size fits all offering. TaylorMade giving us the Hi-Rev 2.0 (I wish X was available stock). I would also kill for someone to offer the Modus (not the AWT 2.0) wedge shafts as a stock offering.

I think golf ball and wedge fittings are where the real growth in the custom fitting game will come next, but finding a profitable outdoor fitting model for the masses is the secret sauce to making it all work.

If you are fitting wedges indoors that’s also where you’ll play your best golf with them.

Wasn't being a smart guy....guy. And DG will never be their stock shaft since they get companies like Nippon and UST to make shafts that are specifically made to perform with each club. So chill out man, don't get so upset at my comment.

I've seen pictures, look pretty sweet. Hoping they release before 8/1 though.

I’m not upset by your comment, it’s just totally wrong. Dynamic gold isn’t stock, it’s a no-charge upgrade. Your other comment, that PING will never put Dynamic Gold as stock in their wedges, is very wrong. It’s stock in Glide forged and has been stock in previous wedges.

Picked up another stealth used for $70 at local store. It was like new. Will keep me good until they release new stealth

I can report that on June 2, I put in a custom order for new Glide 2.0 Stealth through PGASS and Ping kicked it back saying they have been discontinued. Caught me by surprise since 3.0 hasn’t even been officially announced and the Stealth has only been out for about 15 months. Ping has always left the prior gen clubs on the market for a bit. The only thing you can custom order today is apparently the Glide Forged.
