Grade my eBay purchase!

Little Ned

Recommended Posts

I’ve purchased a few small things off eBay in the past but mainly sold things for a few extra bucks. So when I purchased a set of 919 Hot Metals, I was excited. But as I waited for them to arrive and now as I wait for a tropical storm to pass through South Carolina, I cant help but 2nd guess myself. For the last 2!days and for the next 2 days, I’ll just be able to look at the them.

So anyway ... The came in the original box with shrink wrapping in the club heads. The heads look legit. The serial numbers are there. The shafts look legit (but one has a paint chip). The grips look legit. The only thing that has me questioning things is that the ferrule is 3/4” whereas the Mizuno website indicates that it should be 1/2”. And as I mentioned, the paint on one of the shafts is chipped (not sure if this is normal or not).

Here are several pics, Gap Wedge included. What do you say? Legit or not?

White sticker on the 5 iron?

They look legit to me. Mizuno will ding them if they discount new sets so there are some places that claim the clubs are "used" when in truth they are brand new. A couple of scratches on the shaft label is all it takes.

Hey if all it takes is a minor paint scratch or two on the shaft, I’m fine with that. That’s no big deal at all, IMO.

Best username ever.

I’ll give Mizuno a call tomorrow and have them check out the serial number. As for the grips, I compared them to a few grips I’ve got around the house and don’t notice anything different when it comes to odor. It’s very similar. I also compared them next to each other:

@"Little Ned" No clue about the Mizunos, but hopefully today is the last day of the ridiculous mount of rain that has fallen lately.

I contacted Mizuno earlier and they verified the serial number. I was also told that the 3/4" ferrules are the correct size. The website was incorrect in listing them as 1/2" and it will be corrected soon.
