i remember reading some type of questionnaire with tiger, and he was asked about ball position, he said something along the lines of he moves the ball a inch back from center or a inch forward from center and center being the straighter shot. it was an old article but maybe he had it back a inch or so hitting that’s shot.

Pebble gives him room to "spray" his drives... Similar to Augusta. If he can hit about 75% of drives in the short grass, continue his great iron play, stick his wedges close, and get the SC to drop putts like Augusta, that with the help of a handful of favorable bounces AND strokes of luck.... He has a shot of winning this.

 

Bethpage was black and white evidence he can't complete on tight courses with small fairways. At this style track with open, wise fairways... That evens the playing field significantly for him.

 

We shall see who shows up.

I know for a fact he'll move the ball around between middle of stance as well as off his heel with driver, not to mention tee'd down to promote a low squeeze fade. Not 100% angle. One of the many dimensions in his seemingly endless pantheon of swing adaptations.

He does that with the driver when hes trying to hit that low stinging cut shot.
