I really want to hit these. And somehow I really don’t. I know I’ll order a set if I do. And I don’t need to. Lol.

These look like a real departure from Wilson Staff's usual blade. It's got a much more rounded toe than traditional Staffs and has a substantially thicker top line that many Staff irons. I know that's the "look" these days and even lots of pros aren't down with a super thin top line but I guess I just expect a certain look from Staff blades, like the FG100, which was unanimously lauded. I also don't get the trend of leaving the machining marks on clubs. I'm sure that cutout from the muscle is effective in moving the CG to dead-center, but this would have been a prototype in times past. Why'd they have to machine it out...why didn't they just do the forging in the finished shape? I think they do it just because it's a "thing" these days. Sorry, I just prefer the look of a finished club..

The top line of the FG Tour 100s seemed thicker in person than older Wilson blades to my eye. These appear to me to be much closer to the thinner top lines of the traditional Wilson's than the FG Tour 100s. Hard to know without a side by side shot

Some pics to compare the new blades to the FG 100s. I honestly could not find one discernible difference in the head shape or size. The only difference I could actually see is the diamonds surrounding the face are smaller on the new ones. I prefer the look of the new model in the bag by far but I doubt anyone will find any actual difference over the ball or in how they play. Both are beautiful! Pics are 4,7,PW with FG 100s on the right.

Carl's Golfland has a full demo set. If you liked the 100s you can pretty much order the Staffs blind and be confident you will like them. Didn't look different, didn't feel different, didn't perform differently. Literally felt like I was hitting the same exact club. Personally I like when companies don't fix what isn't broken on their players clubs. Cobra does the same and I'm a fan of both for that reason.

I feel like Wilson sales may get a slight boost but nothing significant unless Wilson goes berserk with an all out advertising blitz.

On the flip side, whatever increase Honma saw in sales will most likely stay flat or even dip. Azinger implied Rose’s poor GIR% was a direct result of his irons change.

Would it not be 63 now? I thought the Fg-62 blade irons were named to commemorate 62 major wins. If the Wilson marketing team is on they'll start stamping these new blades with Fg-63. I for one would appreciate the nod to the stellar history of iron design that Wilson Staff cam boast of.

The press release to the FG62s said this:

About Wilson Golf

For nearly a century, Wilson Golf has designed, manufactured and distributed premium and recreational golf equipment throughout the world. Since 1914, Wilson Staff irons have won 61 Major championships, more than any other iron manufacturer in history.

I stand corrected although I'd still like to see them carry on with the "FG" model naming.

Offset question? specs listed on wrx, is this true , pitching wedge .050? Reminds me of r9 tp B stamps , Txxxxx ( why do I sell things ??‍♂️)

Hell I’d orders these for the lack offset , how do they look combated to a Titleist iron?

Thank you for the info. I just assumed the FG 62 irons were for 62 majors as well after Harrington’s run. His 3 on top of the FG 59. I wonder why they didn’t use 61?

I know they’re now owned by a Chinese firm but really the last original American golf brand still standing.
