NJ Membership for Someone Under 30

Hello all,

 

I’m a 27 year old 10 handicap who’s starting to poke around private memberships for both business during the week and fun during the weekend. Was curious to see if anyone had any recommendations for young professional or junior membership courses in NJ. Currently located in Jersey City but definitely willing to drive. M

Not sure there is anything that close to you unless $ isn't an issue and then we can start talking Liberty national and Bayonne, but under 30, I'd look into Forest Hill Field Club. It is in Bloomfield, about 30 minutes from JC. I think there are excellent deals to be had for someone in your age bracket. It is a good layout and one member that I know says there is a good young membership.

How far is "willing to drive"?

 

New Jersey National, from what I am told, can be had for $5k/yr with no initiation. Only golf there, but for $5k and unlimited access, that's really tough to beat. It's a lovely looking course and if you can get out there 4 or 5 times a week to play/practice I imagine it's worth it. Believe there are 2 other courses (forgot which off the top of my head) that you can also have access to. Search the forums, there is a recent thread on this. I'm considering joining myself.
