Ping's new G410 LST driver

GolfWRX_Spotted

Recommended Posts

Its surprisingly the lowest spinning shaft of the 4 for me in my limited testing.

The atmos is the lowest launching.

The atmos makes the KK feel soft.

Ventus feels the most powerful but still stiff/stable

Even flow is the softest feeling one of the group.

The KK felt much better in the Gmax head.

I have been working the last 6 days and only get out for a few mins after work to hit a few shots before bed. Hoping Friday I can get outside with them if its not raining like every other day here has.

Seems like you’d be better off with the 410 Plus. Spin under 2000 is probably not optimal for those ball speeds. From what I understand, the LST is supposed to be around 400 RPM less than the Plus, and that seems like it would be about perfect for you. Then you can sell your head to someone desperately wanting the LST right away. Everybody wins!

Don't think the 410 would change anything for me. Most hits with even the Gmax had me sitting around 2000 RPM average spin. Currently I just can't seem to stop hitting twoards the high toe area. I have always been a low spin with almost all drivers.

The two times I have managed to play outside I would have to say that the lst seemed more consistent and controlled vs the max.

I was trying to get a friend to buy a 410 + so I could compare. Since all my shafts were swapped over to the 410 adapter.

Plus would give you better spin numbers but have you tried increasing the loft? Or playing your driver 1/2" longer?

The garmin g80 used to say 110-112 mph before the update screwed up the readings

PO 60tx all day long. Can swing it all day long, just can't go after it (probably a good thing)

The DF has a tendency to go left (a hard left). Probably the weighting on the DF but even tweaking, it just doesn't feel the same. Could probably tip the DF even more but the setup would border being short.

Been testing against my TD, still don't know where the TD goes even though its straight straight.

Everybody relax, I’m here

I have been able to get out with both the ventus and the evenflow twice now. The evenflow has been slightly longer overall but likes to overfade for me. I have had some really nice long drives with it.

The ventus on the other hand is shorter overall but really has minimal left or right to it unless you really go after it or try to make the ball turn. It's not the most lively feeling shaft but it is the most consistent.

Currently I am averaging 10 yards less with the LST vs the max with the KK XD. Though I do have about 110 rounds with the max through last year. The lst seems to stay in play better so far. I am still not sure if extra spin would be helpful but would still like to try out a 410 plus this year. The flat lie setting has been great for me.

Really loving the 410 plus with Tensei pro white 60 TX (10.5 head at flat -1 setting). Little hot melt in there. Sounds great, super forgiving. After some swing changes I have been searching hard for a forgiving driver that will allow me to play both my old cut and now my stock draw off the tee - this is it. Tempted by the 410 LST but I’ve learned the hard way that if you go super low spin sometimes the draws can just fall out of the sky.

I strongly agree. Epic Flash SB is the feel and sounds so bad. Makes me sad because original Epic SB was on of the GOATs.

I have been extremely happy with sound and feel of 410 LST.

When hit flush in the sweet spot it has a soft pop unlike any driver I’ve experienced. Love it!

Finally got the new Ping 410 tip installed on my GD Tour AD IZ 6x. I had previously been playing it in a 9 degree Max, now it's in my new 9 degree 410 LST. 400 Max is the easiest/most forgiving driver I've ever used, but it spins a little high for me at around 2800-3k rpms.

I have not been on Trackman, but flight appears optimal and the ball is taking off with the launch and trajectory I like to see. I can actually see visually that the ball is spinning less and I was getting some nice roll out. No problem turning it over for slight draws or squeezing out a bullet fade. Mine appears to sit very square in the standard loft but flat setting. I'm pretty sure this one is going to be a winner. I'll report back if I get a chance to verify spin numbers in Trackman.

No complaints here, gave mine the tour treatment and it sounds great, not quite as good as my m5, but it looks to be performing nicely. I prefer the look over last years g400 LST. I did not like the look of dragonfly on top. I haven't played the 410 much, but it was performing consistently and penetrating on the range so far.

M5 faster ball speed or what?

Spent time tonight with the 9* on GC Quad, and I can say that this is going to be great for a certain type of player.

1. Feel is definitely like an old school baseball bat, very solid and you know when you mint it

2. Anyone who struggles with high launch, high spin, and OTT pulls or hooks, you are going to love it

3. Ball speed was very very strong, it only took me about 10 swings to pass 168BS which is silly my average

Not sure on BS. Drivers are pretty close now these days, so it's about looks feel sound and accuracy. The m5 has in my opinion better looks sound and feel, but the LST is not far behind. M5 is working well for me, but I need to test the LST on course. Hopeing the LST will be just as accurate and longer.
