Titleist T200 and T300 to debut at Travelers

Recommended Posts

Thank you for posting this. I’ve been checking non-stop for what the T200’s were going to look like after seeing the T300 pic from the conforming list. It’s not at all what I was hoping for or expecting as I fully intended on getting a new set. After seeing the T100’s I felt comfortable in ordering the 718 AP2’s, and moving on from my AP3’s. Seeing these T200’s assures me I made the right decision. I love the way the 718 AP2’s look at address and feel at impact. Man I really missed the feel of forged irons (last forged set I owned was 690.MB). I have Golf WRXr’s to thank, from all of the posts I’ve read about getting fit and taking advantage of the price drop at what appears to be the peaked version of the AP2. At the fitting the biggest surprise to me was the jump in numbers going from the AMT White to the NS Pro 880 AMC. I was shocked when I seen identical carry/distance numbers of the AP2 7 iron with the NS Pro vs my gamer AP3 7 iron with AMT Black, considering the difference in lofts. I can’t wait for Titleist to send them, and looking forward to the community response to the T200/300 pics.

Glad I bought my 718 AP1’s last year. Looks like the same design team that designed the TS head cover. TS2/TS3 homerun, T series irons, not so much from what I see at this point.

T100 like AP2 are OK, T200 i don`t know, looks like Taylormade irons. T300 no word!?!?

My opinion, AP2 and AP1 716 or 718 are still classic and premium Titleist irons. Never hit the AP3 so no comments. I really like the look of the new CB and want to know more about the forgiveness against the AP2 716 or 718.

I'm quite liking the look of the T200, I could definitely see myself gaming those in the long irons in the not too distance future.

I don't mind the looks but then again they look quite similar to my TM irons with the exposed weight in the cavity. They'd be way more offensive with a bunch of colour splashed on them, the muted silver and black combo looks nice. Interested to see more details on these and how they fit among Titleist's offerings, is it just me or does Titleist have a massive club lineup at the moment?

what are they thinking...they're a classic, traditional style company and then you come out with these Adams replicas? what's the gear in the T200 for? why a partial speedbridge on the T300 -- does the heel side not need support?

You can't look at these from a discerning consumer's point of view. Instead, look at it from a retailer's point of view. Hiding technology doesn't help shelf appeal, demo appeal, or overall sales. Titleist has to have buy-in as well as sell-thru and the retailers only have a few moments to grab the customer's attention at point of purchase. The product has to tell its own story as much as possible. Retailers can't rely on their staff getting PK from company sales reps anymore. Gone are the days of traditional styling on the super game improvement irons. Welcome to the new Titleist.

i'm looking it as a - "you're a traditionalist company who's never had to cater to 'attention grabbing' tactics to sell clubs" point of view...

i've been to demo days for another OEM and literally had people tell me they're buying X irons simply b/c they know titleist "is the best" -- without a care in the world if they could benefit from another brand -- or performance/tech from another company.

color me confused as to what titleist is looking to gain here

Was really excited for the new release of Titleist this year but just ordered a set of JPX 919 Tours after seeing the new lineup this year. Finally got me to order these since I've had my eyes on them since release but have been loyal to Titleist since I've only played Titleist irons the past 15 years, mostly AP2s. No idea what they are doing this year. Address still looks great and I'm sure they perform well and what you'd expect with Titleist but I don't know how they could flop so miserably terrible with shelf appeal.

> Just noticed that earlier posts of these irons have different images for the T300 (without the bar/ switch). I wonder if all the irons will have the bar or only some longer irons. Overall not the best looking irons but glad they are simplifying the naming designations.

PW/GW to 8 don't have the sextant. 7 to 4 include the sextant.
