Had to have been by age 18, so if wasn’t and sounds like he’s not then he’ll be a Euro.

Actually no, that's why they went to Holland.

Then they suffered poverty and left.

As a Texan, I’m habitually offended by OSU’s ridiculously great golf recruiting....

Come on UT!!!

Why do we give money to you if you’re not gonna use it wisely and pay world class golfers to play???

It can’t cost too much to pay recruits to live in Austin....

LOL! Just because someone takes advantage of a full ride college scholarship they want to become a US citizen?

The guy is Norwegian. Plays on Norwegian and European teams in competitions... on account of being Norwegian.

It's not like he's a Canadian hockey player or something ;)

Yep, and no way he probably gives a rat's rear about making the U.S. Ryder Cup team (even though he can't be eligible).

If only he was eligible to play for the other team in the Ryder Cup. Maybe he should move to a Euro country - you know, like Paris or London or Australia or somehwere.

The sponsorship money is usually the safety-net money. Hovland has no status on Tour - any tournaments he gets in will be sponsors exemptions. He still needs to earn his card for next season, and there's not much time left this season to earn it. No different with Matthew Wolff signing with TaylorMade. Now, if both perform as they are capable, they should earn their cards. But there are no guarantees in golf or sports, and all it takes is one slump or an injury, and they would be in trouble. Signing some sponsorship contracts now gives them the security to just go out and play golf, and not worry about how the bills will be paid.

Or he could choose to worry about access to club work on site at an event, buying and trying shafts (Golf Galaxy?), soft consumable goods - balls, gloves, shoes, etc.

I wonder if the Ping Tour Van will work on the clubs you bought off the shelf at a discounted rate while at the Traveller's.

Agreed.

Personally, I'm not a fan of newer Ping putters. Ping typically signs players to the entire bag right? Are there any full Ping staffers with a non-Ping putter?

I asked KBS and he is playing the 120 v tour in his irons. They didn't say but I'm guessing there the tour spec ones that are 130 grams. I never heard of these shafts but I don't follow KBS very well. I wonder how they play. I wanted to see what shafts he played vs Wolff. Different swings but both powerful so I'm always intrigued. Wolff plays Modus 130x.

I guess he changed from the last report that I heard with the KBS FLT 130Xs in the irons. Though, you say you got that from KBS, so I will take their word for it. I have switched back and forth between KBS and TT for my entire career and honestly can say I prefer the feel of the KBS, but found them to be a little weaker in the tip section.

His announcement was posted on I believe Ping's IG page and KBS IG was commented on the post. I asked them there but haven't seen it posted anywhere. Can you even get those from retailers?
