This is a set from the Regional Rep here in Montreal. I didn't have a choice for the shaft.

I’ll be interested in how you like $ taper vs your gamers with recoil proto f5. I put recoil 95 F4 in my cb 5 iron which came out of my previous gamer and it’s likely I will load the rest of the recoils in the Kings.

I have 3 sets of XTD Forged irons.. all have different shafts;

UST TourSPX Recoil Prototype 95g F5

Aldila RIP 115g Tour Stiff

DG XP S300

I was reading thru a thread on another site that a guy had the $-Taper and changed them to graphite and didn't like them as well as the original ones. One of my main reasons why I bought the Cobra MB's are the lofts are exactly the same as my XTD Forged irons, and in the past I had Srixon z945's with Steelfiber 110 xstiff and loved them. The Cobra MB are about as close looking as the z945 I feel, so at some point I might order a single 7i MB and mess with shaft options..

I am trying to tell anyone that these are the easiest blades I have ever hit period. Easier than 730,MP18, & Callys... They also look the best IMO...

So in regards to length does Cobra measure from EOG or cut length? Cannot believe they put the Arrcos in these blades? I had to lead tape them just to get them to D2 with Zcords... I am not a fan of tip weights

Wardonation...........I ordered mine plus 1/4” as past memory is Cobra is a little short. Also ordered with grips loose in the box. So for example the 6 iron measured raw playing length 37 3/4” and E1 without grip. With a 52g grip installed was at 38” and D4. Don’t know if it has a tip weight. Cobra web site says 6i ordered stock with std grip measures 37.75” and D2. When I disassembled a previous purchase of a 5 iron it had a 2g tip weight and measured 38.25” top of standard grip and was D2. Head weighed 254g

I ordered mine to be standard length without the Cobra Connect grips (had GPTV standards installed) as if / when I change out the grips I didn't want to have to deal with swingweight issues. After receiving them I checked their lengths to confirm them versus their website specs shown.. across the board on all of them, they are -1/4" shorter than published on their site... 5i shows 38.25" and it is in fact 38" (this includes the overall length including the grip butt cap) Had I known that this was the case I might have ordered them 1/4" longer. Although I really don't think that 1/4" longer / shorter will affect my swing much, besides a quick look at my other stock length sets 5i's they all look to be 38".

Yep that makes sense and has been my prior experience. Why Cobra publishes those specs yet doesn’t build exactly to them is annoying.

Can anyone comment on the 2016/17 version compared to the 2019 Version.. The 2019's have the tungsten in the sole, where the previous years did not.. Does anyone know if the new version is higher launching because the CG has been lowered with the added tungsten? All the reviews of the new models suggest that they launch a bit higher...

I can comment on these vs. the OG pro MBs from 08. I played those for a few years. In Many way cobra MB irons have not changed all that much. I like the way these feel way better. That could be because I was play pro X shafts before and these have the $ tapers which I think is a much better feeling shaft.

I ordered mine as follows;

2019 Cobra King Forged MB 5-PW, GW without Cobra Connect grips (ordered with Golf Pride Tour Velvet standard size) Standard L/L/L..

I will say that their published lengths on their site are not accurate. Based on their site the 5i should be 38.25" for builds without the Cobra Connect and 38.5" for those with it. My 5i measures 38" overall with grip butt cap.. the whole set measures 1/4" shorter than website states. Not a huge issue other than I learned about this being a constant after I purchased them. All my other sets are 38" for the 5i, so not a big deal. Swing weights on mine were not terrible at most D1 where it was to be D2 and D2.5 when its supposed to be D3.

Not sure on the AMT's but their black finish on their S400's on my Vokey wedges sucks big time. It is all chipped and coming off.

Thank you, but I'm looking for a comparison between last year's CB/MBs to this year's CB/MBs.. the 2019 have tungsten in the toe and sole.. last year's have the tungsten in the toe only.. I assume the current model years flight higher with lower CG of the tungsten in the sole..

I have the 2018 mb/cb, had them about 2 weeks in satin. They are an incredible blade. Very solid and great distance. I hit the 2019 to see the difference and noticed very little. Maybe felt a bit more stable and the flight was higher minimally 7mt8ls4sax7a.jpeg

but I was hitting $taper stiff and mine have S+. So not an exact comparison. Can’t go wrong with either. These kicked my x-cb Bridgestone irons out. I love the thinner sole on these irons. 7yaexxn29xb2.jpeg

Thanks man.. I just picked up black 2018s so I am super excited to hear minimal difference!

I am pretty sensitive to feel and ball flight too. I couldn’t tell much difference. The 19’s made a slightly different sound...and felt really good but definitely not any big differences from the 18’s. I hope you like yours as much as I do. I’ve been on a mad iron search and I think these are it.

I'm curious if anyone has been able to compare the Forged Tour's to the new MB/CB's. I have hit the MB 7 iron and for as small as it looked it certainly didn't feel that way. I havn't had a chance to hit it with my shaft or specs (Modus 130x) but I hit it with a 105 which was close enough for initial feedback. I did notice that sweet spot is more center, I hit 4 or 5 baby fades that felt good but landed 10 yards short of what I would expect and when I looked at the face the strikes were on the heel, I made an adjustment and started finding the center hitting my yardage or slightly farther with a little draw or straight ball.

The Forged Tours are solid, but the 8-pw launch a bit high and honestly I wouldn't mind a bit more spin. The Forged tec's have way too much offset to even consider, I am considering a Tec 4 iron but I would bend it a degree or 2 weak which would lessen that offset a bit, but I'm not even sure I'd need to go with the tec over the 4 CB. Everyone seems to be of the opinion the MB/CB's are more forgiving than you would expect but I havn't seen a comparison to the Forged Tours. Thanks
