Maybe a real forged head like PXG! That would be a plus and have me looking closer.

I'd love to see a true flow set with the p760 size in the scoring irons progressing into the p790 in the long. With the look of the p790 throughout. Imagine if your pw was 760 then getting a bit larger as the irons get longer with the 4 being a 790 size head. Progressive offset and sole width.

P790 might have been their most versatile iron ever in terms of range of ball striking abilities. I've played with guys who are a 20 using these and guys who are a 5 using these. Can't wait for the next version. Something slightly smaller would be nice, a P780 perhaps?

Because you can tell a difference between a fully forged and then welded head filled with vibration dampening foam and a cast head/forged face with vibration dampening foam?

Owned both sets of clubs...yes definited difference!

Several improvements that can be made to the P790..this is just one.

The difference between the mid and short irons was just one of those...terrrible.

One of the things that intrigued me with the P790’s was their bladelike appearance. TM, hopefully you will continue this and not follow the P760’s...

They should take the speedfoam out of the 7-pw and mill grind the soles. Leave the speedfoam in the 3-6, but thin out the top line and reduce the offset a bit for the whole set.

No speed foam in the 7-PW confirmed!

That would be a next gen P760, no?

I guess you could say that. But I’ve hit the 760s a bunch and to me they don’t feel nearly as good as my 790s or the 750s. If they truly do remove the speedfoam in 7-pw, I will def buy them and add them to my current 790s.

Side note, TM please don’t put some hideous badge on them. Keep them clean!

IMO - TM was targeting the AP2 players with the 760's, but adding the tech/hype from the 790's. Compact players cavity and the speedfoam in the longer irons. Good in concept, but executed so-so.

I'm guessing TM will go all in and make a better 760 replacement that lines up with the 790, evolve the 790 as is, and then add the "Ti" version for even more forgiveness. As all co's do when they find a product that sticks, land and expand!!

Almost all the manufacturers jumped on the bandwagon once the "hollow game improvement w/ muscleback-like looks" ("HGIMB"??? Need a catchier name or acronym!) models started flying off the shelves (see - p790, PXG, AP3, i500). Now it's the expansion of those lines - "players HGIMB", a mid HGIMB like the p790, a "Hollow SUPER game improvement muscle back" (this new p790 Ti?).

At least tell us if the sole is thinner. I liked the 790s but hated the sole thickness the most.

This is how rumors are started. Speculate and keep guessing. But more importantly, get out there with your current set and go set a new personal best. Nothing better than that and new clubs won’t help with it.

How does this look like a blade? 790 on far right.

I think he meant the actual cavity has a blade like appearance which I can agree with. Definitely not blade like from address, too thick of an iron personally for my liking but I can completely understand what he means by blade like appearance on the cavity design.

Either way, the P790’s are arguably the best all around iron TM has ever released and one of the best any major OEM has released in a very long time.

TM has their work cut out for them if they’re looking to improve on it, so yes make it smaller and sleeker and just as forgiving and you will have my attention.
