PGA SS shipping me floor model

So I ordered a ping putter through PGA SS this past weekend cause I had a e gift card. It said that it was coming directly through from PING which is also what I liked. I received putter today and it was a floor model from my local store that is 10 min away. Head was scratched up and no plastic. Basically someone just grabbed the putter and threw a headcover on it and put in the box. I am disappointed to say the least. I called CS and they said to bring it back to store and try and order another one. When I asked my local store to see if they had any new ones in the back they told me they were busy and to call back. Just wanted to share my story.

Do you have any social media accounts? Make a post about what happened and make sure to tag Ping and PGATSS. Might be your best way to a resolution/answer.

Go to the store, tell them what happened and demand a brand new stick. I've had that before at PGASS where they try to push the floor model on you. Once I asked to buy a new putter of the one I had in hand and the sales guy tried to convince me to let them bead blast the scratched up putter to clean it up instead of bringing a new one. They know what they did, don't accept it. They shouldn't be selling demos as new, especially without telling you, or without a discount.

This has also happened to me with PGA SS on a PING Anser TR 1966. Came all scratched to hell. When I returned it, the refund took about 10 business days and I wasn't refunded the shipping costs. I had to make several calls to get completely reimbursed. I will never order from PGA SS online again.

Seems to be their MO. I also received a shop worn floor putter from them when they had Odyssey Metal X Milled Versa $99 "new" sale online. Wrong weight kit and cover. The head didnt have plastic and had minor scratches, minor sole wear and couple scratches on the black shaft. I complained via email and a cs rep sent me the correct weight kit at least. Seems to happen a lot with putters from them.

Yes he "shouldnt" but sometimes you have to, it's a lot easier to be in their face and get it worked out. And I am not sure what using a GC has to do with anything, if he wants a refund it should go right back to the card.

Either way, the only way to correct it is to deal with PGA SS. Griping about it on here is great to hear other stories, going to social media is a bit premature. Retailers make mistakes, this whole sense that they should roll out the red carpet every time that happens is getting absurd. Perhaps they should send the ping tour van? If you don't like big box CS then stop shopping at big box stores.

^You keep your gift card after using the full balance? How you're blaming the OP is really lame. Screw PGASS and their shady practices. Clearly he's not the only customer they did this to. Sending floor, shop worn models as "new" is not acceptable and they should be blasted for it.

Additionally, what if the gc was a "code" and not a physical card? Something like buying third party discounted one off raise.com or giftcardgranny.com? That's gonna require a bunch of extra effort to sort out and made whole again, it's a PIA.

So PGASS are sending me a supposedly new one, in plastic.etc... Already got the tracking # and they are over nighting it to me. I just looked where its coming from and it is from my local store, once again who had no new ones in stock only the floor model. So I am guessing someone threw some spit on the other beat up one, shrink wrapped some plastic off another model and passing it off as new. SMDH :/ . We shall see

I never once blamed the OP for anything, take your fake outrage elsewhere.

Ironically, I think it's their return policy that was screwing up my return/refund---

Damaged, Defective, or Shipping Error Return:

- Product must be New and Unused.

- Product must be returned in original packaging.

That's even more ridiculous

Glad they finally made it right.

No they would see he paid with a gift card and put it on a new gift card... have you ever actually returned anything after using a gift card?
