Tensei Pro Orange vs Tensei Orange Shaft Markings?

What are the differences between the standard and the pro versions of this shaft? I don't need an overly technical response, but just wondering what general characteristics are similar or not. I have a 95-100 mph SS, and was told (by a reputable fitter) that the shafts would perform "similarly" but the pro is better made and more reliable.

Pro version has the highter end material go futher up the handle (to make more stable?) and added material in the tip (to stiffen up) so the Pro versions should launch/spin less than non-Pro versions

I'm using the X flex stock from TM in my 3 wood now and it seems fine. Have not removed the grip, but the weave goes up to it. I am not noticing any change in launch angle, if anything slightly lower than my previous 8.3 tour spec (go figure). The orange from TM seems to play stiffer the harder I go at it, which is a pretty interesting quality. My only suggestion is I wish it weighed more ... 72 grams just feels a little on the light side for a 3 wood, I like 80+ in my fairway.

So if I have an Orange in stiff with "MR70" near the tip and the "W" near the grip, then it's a pro? Also, the weave pattern goes at least to the grip. I haven't pulled the grip to check label or how far up the weave goes.

I dont know if this thread is still active, but looking for clarification. I recently purchased a tensei PO 60 TX. I know the pro version only came in TX but there is not Tungsten symbol on the butt end side or mr70 in the tip section, but still says Mitsubishi Chemical. Do all the latest versions have those symbols? Could this be an earlier version?

So I just bought a Tensei Orange shaft off of ebay. It is not supposed to be the Pro, but it does have the weave all the way into the grip. No other markings (MR70 is not at the tip). This thread has a lot of conflicting information. Is there a definitive way to tell which shaft I have without looking under the grip?

The Tungsten symbol was not present at the beginning of the shaft production and I believe the MR70 label was absent at the very beginning as well. Many of the earlier prototypes were missing the MR70 symbol too. Pull the grip to check for butt codes to be sure. It has the retail Taylormade graphics, so its not a Pro. The only exception I have seen there are the Tour Issue version that have TM retail graphics but are "TX" flexes. These have the tip markings as well. It appears as though they did something different with the Taylormade OEM CK Orange shafts graphically since more of the CK weave is visible and they obviously tweaked the orange band to be more of a red/orange.

Got it, thanks. I had no expectations of a pro shaft, but when I saw the weave all the way up, I thought there might have been a bank error in my favor

Hah, yeah that would be nice. I am curious about the visible weave though as one of the cost saving bits on the non-pro Tensei shafts was using less of it. If you ever take the grip off, I'd be curious to see.

Going to compare to my tensei blue this weekend. If I decide to keep it I'll be popping the grip off to cut a half inch or so off. I'll definitely take pictures.
