A familiar venue but the Championship Course has undergone a series of alterations. It's a reasonably strong field with 5 of the top 50 in the OWGR and 14 of the top 100. Matt Wallace is the highest rank player at #24 followed by Sergio Garcia at #30.

I played there two weeks ago, the greens have been vastly improved, however it's still a pretty dull course (just long in places), not the best in Bavaria, and maybe not even the best in Munich, but it will be good to see how to play it properly! Tickets are cheap on thursday which is a bank holiday here, so hopefully there will be a big crowd. The hospitality/tented area is always great and the tournament nearly always produces a good finale, should be a good weekend.

Yes it's shaping up nicely. Alex Noren could do with a good tournament as he's had a very poor year so far, he started the year at #19 in the OWGR now down to 43.

Hopefully the weather isn't going to be too problematic, supposedly there is more electrical activity in the forecast.

it's cool at the moment and the forecast is for some storms later on starting around 16:00, I hope not though as I have a matchplay starting at 16:00, but you can never tell what will happen with the weather at this time of year.

Noren has been so consistent in the last couple of seasons, I wonder what's up with him. Has he been injured? Did he just get married?? (Jk, I know that's not the case, but some explanation must be out there). Maybe he tried to hit a draw?...

terrible storms the last 3 nights, a real shame that they have to tee of so early, but at least they managed to play today and will finish the competition in 4 days. Fitzpatrick looking good, to shoot -7 is really terrific.

Playing in the penultimate group with Fitzpatrick is Matt Wallace who is a further shot back and looks a threat too. Forecast must be OK for today as the tee times appear to be as they would normally. Should be good.

to hit Driver and three wood into the green is beyond my comprehension. I've played that course a lot of times and for me a 12 handicap who hits a lot of fairways that hole plays Driver, 5w 9i
