Anyone hit the TS4 yet?

I’ve got both the TS3 and the TS4. The 4 is not as forgiving as the 3, but the 4 does feel more forgiving than the 917 D3. The 4 is also not as fade bias as I was expecting. To me, the 3 with the weight in the fade setting is more fade bias than the 4. It’s definitely as fast as the 3, and obviously much lower spinning on similar strikes. The mishits on the 4 come off with no spin, which is good and bad, because they stay in play but fall out of the sky. The sound and feel of the 4 is a little more refined than the 3. I imagine that’s because of the shape.

Did you ever play a 915 D4? I've played both the 915 D4 and the 917 D3 and wondering what you would say the TS4 is closer to? I'm a bit unsure, as you mention the TS4 seems more forgiving than the 917 D3 but also seems to be spinning quite a bit less (vs the TS3). I think the feel of the 915 D4 is quite different than the 917 D3, both on centre strikes and especially on mishits. Unfortunately, I don't have the TS3 as a point of comparison.

I did play the 915 D4, and the 907 D4 for that matter. And for clarification, the statement of more forgiveness than the 917 D3 is what Titleist is saying based on MOI and ball speeds, not just what I’ve seen on the course. I should have said that in my original post.

Based on my limited personal use, I wouldn’t say the TS4 is much more forgiving than the 917 D3, but it’s very close to the same if not a little more. I would say the TS4 spins like the 915 D4, forgiveness similar to the 917 D3, and faster ball speeds than both of them. It’s still not as low spinning as the 907 D4, but that’s a good thing.

This is not a driver for the vast majority of golfers. Very few will fit into it. I would venture to say that there is little to no overlap between the TS4 and TS3. If you were originally fit into a TS3 as the best driver for you, this driver isn’t going to be better. There will be little to no cannibalism between those two drivers during fittings. The TS4 is going to be for the golfers who were fit into the M5 Tour or golfers who are looking to upgrade their old SLDR.

Thank you. My D4 is a bit of an experiment, so I'm not sure if I will stay with it or another low spin head (like a TS4). As you say, it's probably not a great fit for most people.

I did find the 917 D3 pretty easy to hit, so interesting if the TS4 is similar. I do like the feel of the D4 more (I'd guess that the TS4 is closer here given the weight placement), although I wouldn't stick with it if the shots are noticeably worse.

I was fitted to the TS3, but the fitter struggled to get a head for me that spins a little less. So, I'm hoping that the TS4 fits the bill. I will report back here when I get a chance to do my fitting.

OK, so I spent an hour with the TS4 today in the simulator. Bottom line, I now understand why people say that this will not fit many people. I really thought that I was one of those people going in, as I love lower-spinning drivers. When I really hit it, it was slightly lower spinning. However, it wasn't going materially farther, and it is WAYYY less forgiving. I kept my driver.

The TS2 is one of the most forgiving heads out there right now. How would you say the TS4 is vs some of the other low-spin heads (or 915 D4, 917 D3, TS3 if you've played them)?

Yea. 4 yards and tighter dispersion is “ way better “. Not much way better to be had these days.

I LOVE mine. Took me about 2 rounds to get used to it coming from a 460 M1, but my god is this things great. I'm gaining ~5 yards carry, ~10 yards total, and my dispersion is insane. I seemingly can't miss a fairway (assuming I start it on line).

One question I have though is about the weight. I took mine out and see that the underside has "-2g" stamped. How is that possible? Also, are there other weights available that would potentially shift the CG even lower, i.e. heavier weights?

I believe it means -2g from standard. Standard weight in TS2/TS4 is 9g, yours is 7g. Yes you could get heavier weights, they have heavier weight in 2g increments up to +6/17g.

Glad to hear you're loving yours! I think I'm about to be too now that I have 1 round and some practice in with it. Was stubborn to dial the loft up to 11*... I'm usually in the 8.5-9.5 range. Just not enough spin to allow for any forgiveness down there though... But it's been looking good turned up to 11* so far!

I'm in the same boat re: loft. I've always had to be down in the 6.5-7.5 range, but kept mine standard at 9.5. It's been kind of nice.

How might one go about purchasing these weights? I can't find anything online, or at least haven't yet.

It is definitely a little lower spinning and less forgiving. So, if you have pretty tight dispersion with the TS3, I would think that the TS4 would be a great driver if you could do with a slight reduction in spin from the TS3. I have not tried the 915/917 recently enough to say against those, however.
