All I'm saying is a loss is a loss is a loss, irrespective of how it happened. The word of the owner is the only relevant item. It's on the owner to prove there was negligence, and good luck with that.

And all I’m saying is in a case where if this was a new club - it SHOULD be replaced. We agree it may be a battle. In the examples you provided it would have nothing to do with the manufacturer or the retail outlet. In this case, if bought new, it’s strictly on the manufacturer assuming normal use.

Just for reference, here are a few pics I took of the missing head.

 

I still stand by the fact that I was sold a defective club that the seller had built. He has stated he very rarely used it and there is no way to confirm how it was stored for that time. I finally start putting it through its paces and discover a serious issue. If this club was original from Titleist, I have no doubt it would still be together just like the 15yr old Titleist clubs I play. I know how I used the club and there was no abuse. As I previously posted, I will only be buying new from now on to reduce the risk of anything like this happening again.

Let it go. We sympathize with you, but no one here agrees with you that the seller is somehow responsible (whether you are directly, or passive-aggressively implying that he bears some responsibility). It's a tough break, but a risk you take buying used from a private seller. No warranty stated or implied. There are things you can't see that you are purchasing when you pay the extra money to buy new from retail.

By the responses in this thread it doesn’t seem to me that anyone ever thought it was your fault. It’s just terribly unfortunate luck.

Sometimes things just happen. They aren’t the “fault” of anyone, just an accident. When that happens, you just accept it and move on. While I sympathize with the buyer, it’s a crappy break no doubt, I can’t ever imagine asking for my money back. Especially when there is no club to return.

 

Which is the same thing PGA SS would have said, “I’m sorry we can’t help you if you don’t have the entire club”.

Wow, a original Titleist build lasted 15 years?

 

My 7i head from Titleist MOTO started doing a 360 on the shaft after 2 years..

 

Thankfully I had the head which I paid 15 to get the head glued back on.
