> All 5 wedges are posted on the conforming site, though every loft is on that list, the only picture that keeps popping up is the 58 degree lob wedge. I think Mizuno is drilling out a certain amount of holes depending on the loft of that wedge and how much discretionary weight needs to be placed elsewhere to maintain spin and consistent yardages. For instance, the 50 degree wedge may only have 2 holes drilled out and weight will be placed in different spots of the blade etc....

My thoughts exactly soon as I saw the holes. Mizzy already has the weight and groove tech for optimizing spin and launch, weight ports to help push weight even further is what’s next. Still, I’ll keep my S18’s for a bit.

Was rooting for a raw wedge with simple design and multiple grinds. Mizuno is making a surge in my opinion like days of old. St 190 line is incredible. The success of the JPX tour line has been great for them. If the new MP blade they showed on social media that looks like the TN 87 or MP 29 is true and comes in left-handed, they will convert a lot of golfers.

If that new blade comes in left-handed, they can count my money now.

Yeah that’s my main interest as well, just want more H4 feel vs H5/Mmc fli hi.

The current 4 fli hi is a possibility too though. The headshape is good and the numbers are very consistent.

Disagree the 53 was much better than the 54. 54s were mot a good seller. As evidenced by the discounted prices on ebay not even year after release

I imagine the copper underlay is more expensive to produce, so I wonder if these will cost more than the MP18s (when they were originally released).

I also imagine that it requires new manufacturing tech to get it right so I think it’s safe to assume that these will be in the premium segment. If anything, PXG has shown that there is room upwards.

They already had the copper underlay in the JDM version of the MP-18 so hopefully manufacturing costs aren't significant (and passed into pricing).

My guess is that these will be in the $1300-1400 range.

Interesting, I didn't know that. Maybe someone who has the Japanese Mizuno Pro 118s can chime in on how they feel compared to the MP18s.

From the marketing page for the 118 irons:

_Plating Under Copper - Plating under copper is not suitable for plating on the outermost layer because it is very soft plating, it is used as plating as a lower treatment. Mizuno Pro also adopts under-copper plating for under treatment. Although it becomes a slight difference, the hit feeling becomes soft, and the contact time of the ball on the face side is felt longer than usual._

thats because the MP-18 were never released in Japan, they went with the pro 118 which already featured the copper underlay standard. now the finish options, grinds from Yoro were not available on the 118.

The price will not be reasonable with a full copper underlay, but still cheaper than most.
