Barefoot Love in morning and Caledonia in the afternoon

Will be in Myrtle beach for a golf tournament 7/13-7/18 . We currently have a 7:57 tee time Sunday at True Blue and and then a 1:51 tee time at Caledonia. Was thinking of swapping and doing the Love course in the morning. Would we be pressed for time to make it down to Caledonia or would the better course be to stick with True Blue? Thanks for any help

It is close to an hour drive so it would be tight. I would stick with True Blue. IMO True Blue is a better course too.

You would either want to do two Barefoot courses or Caledonia and True Blue. Caledonia and True Blue would be the better courses. I would do Love and Dye at Barefoot. As mentioned above it would be at least an house drive. If not more with traffic.

MB courses double tee, so if busy, the round will be 4.5 hours or more.

It takes an hour to drive from BF to Cal in April, so probably longer in the summer, with

beach vacationers. Stick with TB + Cal and you should have some time for lunch.

We had our yearly golf trip a couple weeks ago. We stay at Barefoot but hardly play there if that says anything. True Blue and Caledonia are a lot nicer. Last year we played the Love course and while it was a nice layout it was in horrendous condition.

I have played all three courses you mention and liked the Love course at Barefoot more than most Myrtle Beach courses.

 

But to me it wasn't nearly as fun as True Blue while Caledonia is the pick of the bunch, easily. So just on course merit I'd stick with the True Blue plan. The fact that doing Barefoot and Caledonia in the same day is a logistical nightmare is an additional reason, of course!

 

If I found myself booking a trip to the Grand Strand I'd be quite happy to do True Blue and Caledonia without feeling I was missing anything. Even if the trip includes 2-3 rounds at either of them (especially Caledonia).

I agree with everyone else. I actually enjoyed True Blue more than Cal though....

TB does a good job with breakfast but I prefer Caledonia for lunch.

The winter kill problems of spring 2018 and into summer 2018 are over in MB. Some courses got new greens,

some patched greens and some didn't have a problem. I am hearing that about half of the courses now have

green covers for frozen weather conditions and hardly had to use them during winter 2019.

Only a few had them during the winter of 2018.
