What Are You "OCD" About?

> After seeing the "do pros use broken tees on par-3s" thread on tour talk, it reminded me that I greatly prefer to use a found broken tee on any hole I'm not hitting driver than an unbroken one from my pocket. I'll scan for one for 5-10 seconds before pulling out a whole tee.

Except that you CAN NOT use a tee you have found on the same tee box you found it on. You have to put it in your pocket for at least one hole. That way it becomes “your tee.”

Lets see, I must have all of my clubs in their designated slots in my bag, and they need to be numbered correctly. I have a 6-slot bag. 3-6 in one slot, 7-9 in the next, wedges in another, driver and hybrid in the top slot, and woods in the slot next to the driver. I know this is common knowledge, but my clubs also need to lay numbered from highest to lowest loft at all times. When the clubs get shuffled up while I'm driving the cart, I get pissed and have to reorganize them so that they are numerical (stupid me, i know...). I need to tee the grooves after every shot, clean them after every round, keep 3 tees in the cart and ALWAYS keep another tucked under my hat by my ear. Gloves also need to be new. Once i see that they are gettin a tad too dirty, its time to switch. My golf outfits must always be coordinated correctly. I hate mismatching. Lol alright, I'm done expressing my issues.

wrong, Wrong, WRONG, I tell you...just plain WRONG! It's exactly the opposite; you can ONLY use a broken tee on the same box where you find it!

I'm with ya CK, same slot every time and always in proper order or else I lose my sh*t. I also constantly check my bag during the round cuz I'm simply done with leaving clubs behind and having to sprint back 2 holes to retrieve what I'm missing.

Sorry to hear about your M4 wood mate. 'Tis a sad state of affairs. RIP

Pretty much OK with about anything playing partners or others do (assuming basic respect for others, the course, the game, and the context of the experience) given I want them to be as comfortable and have as much fun as possible, even if it means regular demonstrations of DSM. But, I do get annoyed with those that rush folks, especially if the rushed folks are trying very hard not to hold up a reasonable pace of play. My OCD is about not getting in the way - please, yes, it's OK with me for you to play through, but please don't hit into others, my group, or me. Thanks.

This. I cannot focus without a wet towel.

I have a small one for the greens and a larger one for my clubs. I use the same two towels religiously and wash them after every 1-2 rounds.

I cannot play with dirty clubs or dirty golf balls.

I cannot play without my towel and it must be wet but not super wet.

I played once where I forgot my towel and it was the worst day of my golfing life.

Now I have a towel inside my car, my bag, and my push cart. lol

I also use a bag that has slots and each club was must be in their proper and designated slots, always.

I'm ocd about cleaning my clubs. It's not that I clean them all of the time. I clean them about once a week. But, I only trust myself to clean them because I feel that I can clean them to the way *I* want them to be cleaned. To be honest, I don't have any special method (I do clean the grips every time), but I just don't trust others to put the time and care into cleaning my clubs.

I'm also pretty OCD about the weighting of the clubs. I use an MOI Auditor for the heft of clubs. And I can get a club that I'm hitting well, but if it's not where it should be on the MOI Auditor, I'll change the weighting to where it needs to be because I simply don't trust that I will continue to hit it well if the heft of the club isn't right.

That’s funny, I REFUSE to use a tee found on the box. It feels like I’m susceptible to someone else’s karma! A lost broken tee, no thanks.

I’ve said it before...you can use a tee found on a tee box only after it’s been in your pocket for at least one hole.....that makes it your tee.

1. Designated slots - see the snake order in my bag pictured.

2. Wipe face after every shot with towel and/or wire brush

3. Remove putter from bag at the end of the round and line it up with my other putters

4. No keys, wallets, phone, money in my pockets, just a ball, a couple of tees and a pitch mark repairer. Oh and a tissue for if I need to blow my nose.
