Real Golf Balls on the Range

I practice at a couple of ranges, both open to members of the public. Both are mainly stocked with Srixon or Mizuno Practice balls, however that doesn't mean you don't get real balls in there. Obviously people tend to get to th eend of their bucket, fancy another couple of goes then start digging stuff out there golf bags. Never anything recent however, in the past 12 months I remember seeing (amongst others):

 

Top Flite XL

Top Flite XL 2000

Top Flite Z Balata

Molitor (every bit as rock solid as you remember)

Titleist PTS / DT / Tour Balata (what was left of it)

Dunlop 65 (really)

Penfold Commando (again, really)

Pro V1 392 (with the seam)

Maxfli Noodle / Revolution / A10

Strata

 

Being one of those anti-social sorts who likes a louder Driver, I tend to keep the Molitors / Top Flites etc for the end, then see how much noise I can make. Turns out with a Molitor, you can make quite a lot of noise indeed :smiley:

That's actually very disappointing.

 

We try to see golf as a more honorable sport (and I still believe it is). On the "Cheating" thread I didn't post anything because I've never actually SEEN someone cheat.

 

But if that many people are stealing range balls,,,,,,,,,,,,, I guess I'd better keep my eyes (more) open.

Our club using Pinnacle range balls unfortunately, so I have a shag bag of old/scuffed premium balls I bring with me when I'm going to be practicing. On the range I just use the Pinnacles, obviously.

When i was in high school our home course was a private club and we had Titleist professionals with the club logo on one side and a small "Practice on the other" being a poor high school student I would always take a few and put my putting line on the practice side. You would never have known they were the range balls lol

Who are all these people stealing range balls? I'm not talking about nice range balls, but like the generic ones with the marks?? My local muni even said they had a problem with people stealing baskets too! Effin nuts man, people suck

Prov1s? Members of my club wouldn't be caught dead using those cheap excuses for balls. We only use XXIO premium feel or Clear balls for practice. Peons!
