Forgot to add in the tour issue Adams Tight Lies Tour 5W. Shafted it with an old TM TP Matrix Code-7 I had laying around and that thing is killer!! It's not pretty, but it's incredibly effective...

Callaway Epic Flash SubZero, Cleveland RTX 4 Wedges (Black) and Scotty Cameron Newport 2 (2016 Model). I just came back to golf this spring, after a 2 year off period due to injuries and I'm feeling great being back at the game.

I also switched from better players irons I had been using for 15 years (nike Pro Combos Forged) to Titleist AP1s 718. While I really like them, I think I will be replacing them once the T-200 or new P-790 hit, which would be more similar to my old nikes.

> Other than an almost completely new bag, I'd say my best buy this year was my Srixon irons.

>

> I went from an off the rack set of Wilson D200 irons which were short for me so I was topping my way around the course. Got fitted, went 1/2" longer and into a stiff from a regular flex on how I load the shaft when I swing. The end result is a world of difference, I'm a much better iron striker now and a lot more distance too. As my swing improves it's just that much better, I hope my swing doesn't change too much to where these irons don't work for me as well.

>

> The next one would be the G410+ driver, long story short I can actually drive a ball in play now.

I have the Z 585 irons and I agree. They are long and really accurate. A very smart move on my part. Enjoy them.

I gotta say, I just bought my buddy's Callaway Rogue 9* driver for $165 and I've had the best three rounds since I started playing again 3 years ago.

I hit an average of like 57% of fairways, distance somewhere between 240-250 regularly. This has resulted in rounds of 87, 83 and 81. Absolutely pumped to get out and use it again.

Best part is, his fusion cracked, Callaway sent him this Rogue. He didnt want it so just asked me to pay what he paid for the Fusion which was like $150.

My Cameron Newport 2 2016 is my 2nd item but i bought that a couple years ago, however this year i'm really starting to get used to it and the grip i put on it. Its a keeper, hopefully going for a Blues stanley cup refurbish this winter.

> Taylor Made M5 driver. My handicap has dropped from 4.2 to 2.8 by simply finding more fairways.

Thats where i'm headed...maybe not 2.8 but i went from like a 12.5 to a 10.5 as a result of my last three rounds.

Its actually a curse...now i want to play every hour of every day to see if i can keep it up haha.

Everything in my signature. Getting fitted made everything great.

The wedges and putter were not fitted for. Those are used solely on personal feel and confidence.

Top is my blueprints and glide forged set... 9 beautiful sticks. Also my fetch... I was able to order it two-flat and 4 degrees; perfect for here. _But I came to tell you about my **Pioneer bag**!_ It's a cart bag with no legs, of course, but it stays upright! It doesn't fall over. It's fantastic on carts because the pass-through isn't required in the middle and that means that the top cuff sits cleanly and doesn't move. It's a fantastic bag. I was almost ready to write off the idea that a bag and a third party trundler would never fit, but I have been proven wrong -- there's a reason it won "most wanted bag". It's the real deal.

14 Pings. Blueprints are incredibly good. Fetch is the most underrated putter on the market. Don't @ me.

  • 1 month later...

The past month or so has been great for some new acquisitions. In addition to the Scotty and ST190 I picked up earlier in the month, I've also recently bought 18* & 21* Adams Dhy hybrids for $25 each and a mint ST190 TS fairway for $100!! I love that these clubs just don't have the recognition value of the other club companies!

I purchased my first Titleist club ever- an 818 H2 hybrid with 21* loft. I love the Surefit system because I can open the face to avoid the dreaded hook like I experienced with all other hybrids. Really pondering adding a Titleist fairway wood now- been using their ProV1x balls for quite a while but really glad I purchased a Titleist club.

> I wasn't going to try to acquire anything this year but...A friend had a like new 2014 Cameron Select Newport that I was curious to try. I don't usually get along with Cameron putters, but I made more puts in the 3 weeks that he let me use it than I have in years! He asks me if I want to buy it -- well, of course! If the price is right...Would $100 work? Uh....Yeah it would!! I tried to talk him up in price, but he just wouldn't budge! I made him a 5W and bought him dinner but still feel a little guilty...

> I traded in some old AP2s, a 910D3 and 910Fd and got in-store credit for what I might have been able to sell them outright for...I had already replaced the old driver and 3W and just never got along with the AP2s so I don't miss them. I ended up getting a Mizzy ST190 for $46!! I can't remember the last time I've been current with a driver -- can't wait to hit this thing!

Vokey SM6 60.08 lob wedge - I never imagined how many strokes I could save around the greens with a 60 degree wedge. I hardly touch my 56 anymore unless I'm actually in a bunker.

Titleist TS2 driver - I've posted in a couple different forums about how gobsmacked I am with the difference in performance between the 915 D2 I bought off the rack three years ago and the TS2 I was fitted for two weeks ago. Between the improvements in technology between the two clubs, and then the immediate jump in performance due to being custom fit, I am absolutely amazed.

Back to vokey wedges for the first time in a few years and I love them; have tried everything out there but was able to get loft/grinds that just aren't offered in lefty by other manufacturers (and still way fewer than righty options but oh well). Second best would be the 718 ap2; hated the 716 and played pxg for two years which were also great, but these irons are excellent.

Project X Catalyst100 iron shafts. One, they are one of the best shafts I have ever used. Incredibly consistent. And two, I’m now practicing again, sometimes two a days with no wrist and thumb pain and my game is back to what it was 5-6 years ago.

I’ve rehauled my whole bag this year but without those I just have pretty clubs sitting in a bag.

I upgraded my 2 Titleist 915 hybrids to 818 H1 , which have been a big improvement for me. They will be in the bag for a long time. I'm also very pleased with my TS3 10.5 with stock Evenflow White.
