Ken Green article - Incredibly tough read.

The courage it took to come out with this story is more than worth losing some friends, who probably weren't friends in the first place. Everyone's your friend when things are good. You learn who your true friends are when they're not so good.

What a very sovering and sad read. And the sad thing is that a lot of victims become abusers later in life.

I hope Ken can find some kind of peace later on in life - my mum had a nasty experience in her adolescance and it stayed with her until her last days, 60 years later.

Ken Green was before my time so I have little to no knowledge about him beyond the trauma he suffered as a child. Those that were involved in this deserve to rot.

I don't think he's worried that these people won't be his friends anymore. I think he's worried that how they act around him will change. Like they might have been the sort to tell sick jokes, but now that they know what he went through they might stop before telling it lest they hurt his feelings. It doesn't mean that they're not there for him. It means that their dynamic will change and he's afraid of that. I think it would be hard not to change how you act around someone when you hear what they went through.

I thought it was going to be about his accident but this is just horrible. I just can't believe how prevalent this is. I have spent my whole career working with kids in education, they are so much fun to be around For the life of me cannot understand how anyone can be that evil. And this loser now in the news. Everyone knows he will buy his way out. Nothing is going to happen. What a corrupt world we live in.

I'm not going to read the article (too tough), I've read enough about his past and somewhat recent issues. Slugger White ( PGA official) his brother in-law has mentioned all his trials over the years too!

Slugger White has never mentioned the subject of that article. Losing his legs is nothing compared to what he revealed, and I’d say it is equal to the human losses of his girlfriend and brother. The loss of his son I would imagine is his greatest tragedy. Good lord, all of this happened to one man. Incomprehensible to me.

No doubt. That he can even move around after all that is pretty incredible. I don’t know if I would survive it at all.

One of the most screwed up things I have ever read. It makes me feel thankful and horrified at the same time. Green was always known as a bit of an oddball, but now I admire him for not being more screwed up. Most people would have ended up in an even darker place.

Horrifying story. Ken Green is one courageous mofo to be able to talk about his abuse. Hope he is able to heal.

 

I'm thankful that I never suffered that kind of abuse from anyone when I was a kid. And I'm even more thankful that I have never had the urge to abuse anyone else like that.

If there was ever a time I would physically kneel atop someone and pummel their face, until they stopped breathing, it would be this. Terrible, absolutely terrible...poor kid. And the truth is, heinous and perverted behavior like this is happening all over our cities, communities, and neighborhoods. These victims often repeat the behavior and the cycle continues. Fortunately, if and when they get prosectued, the inmates usually exact their own justice on the perps.

Hard to fathom the amount of evil there is in this world.

 

Amazing that after a childhood of that horrific abuse that KG could get it together become a Tour winner....He is one tough SOB and whether his antics were or were not anyone's particular cup of tea....He deserves respect and sympathy from all of us.

I have sympathy for the guy, but more questions than anything else after reading this, seems a lot was left out about his family, especially mother and father ( I get he was an alcoholic). Maybe the book has more.
